Lady Luck is a Honda CL72 250cc Scrambler. I got it from Scruffy a fellow DTT member several years ago. Scruffy had taken it apart but we found about 99% of the pieces. My wife and I put it back together in the back of our pickup one afternoon and it has collected cobwebs in our barn in North Arkansas since that day. This is a picture just before it went into the barn.

Scruffy was told the bike had been raced at Lakeland (TN) and Riverside (AR). Afterward it had been "customized" and put on the street. It is supposed to be a 1963, but I have not verified the manufacture date. I'm doing it a bit at a time while I wait on parts for the Road Kilt 750. I started with the gas tank which appeared to be in decent shape.

Good by Lady Luck. The condition of the tank indicates it was never on a race bike. I raced at both tracks and I can assure you this tank would have been full of dents if it had been raced. The bike may have seen the track, then tank definitely not. However, when I removed the cap there is the lingering smell of AV gas.

it will be interesting to see what you find inside the motor if that one was actually raced.

It's all about the story and every bike has a story - some are just more interesting than others.
