**Lets see the Leathers....**

Just bought this guy off ebay. Im interested. Does anyone know any history of "advantage motorcycle racing Detroit"? Looks legit, hopefully it actually is because a google search is bringing up nothing?

Worst cb650 ever said:
I'm looking at adding some of the D3O armor to my vintage Schott jacket - Icon sells the pieces separately: http://www.revzilla.com/icon-protection-armor

It looks like it's $65 for elbow pads, shoulder pads, and a back protector. I wonder if you could run thread through the D3O armor to attach it?
My D30 armour is fitted in with Velcro, seems OK

First post, figured it would be a good one.
This jacket has been in the family for over 40 years, My dad used to wear it when he rode before I was born. fits like a glove too. Actually it fits like a Jacket, just a really good fitting one.

Nice Jacket - Brooks are a solid leather maker and I like that style and color. Looks like it could use a little leather conditioner to prevent it from cracking in certain places. Act now and it will last forever and you'll be able to pass it down to your son or daughter.

Be careful what conditioner you use - do some research. Obviously something like this with it's history is priceless to you. You can take it to a specialist leather shop that should be able to advise on the right product.

Vehicle is an older model Holden Ute but plate doesn't look like Australia where it's made, so where was that taken and why is that ugly old dude wearing ugly old leathers? What's the story behind that picture. :)

I think it's from NZ and teh guy's name is Ormsby and that was teh pits at Methven - all of which means not a lot to me but I did find the blogspot it was borrowed from.

Had this since the '80's when I bought my '77 KZ1000 that was only a 9 year old bike at the time. That's a mind blower to me now.

And my old racing leathers. Complete with Loudon pavement marks. Somewhere I still have the red Bates tall RR boots that went with them. The soles are all beveled off at the toes and the ankle pads and tops are scuffed up. Good times, even when you bail.
