Looking for a good machine shop in Chicago?

Anyone know any good machine shops or performance shops in Chicago area? I'm considering getting bigger pistons and having my motor overbored and rebuilt.

Thanks!

I have used Weimer Machine on Ogden Ave in Berwyn a few times. Used them on a CB350, T160 Triumph, a T120 Triumph. I always take the specs that I want into them. They'll match up pistons to cylinders. Always immaculate work. Heads run great. They take the time to explain exactly what they are doing. That's been my experience. I've heard from others that they are a little pricey but I will go back when I get to my T20 Cub.

The only real performance and machine shop in the Chicago area used to be 4+6 but they closed a while ago.

For rebores, valve jobs and similar machining, we use APC - machine shop attached to CarQuest in Libertyville. For special parts, we use a tool and die guy in Elk Grove Village. For race engine assembly etc, we do it all in house.

Thanks guys. Ill check these spots out. I really want to make this bike more reliable and definitely more badass!

soryr man wish i could help if you have a harley you need done i have some awesome guys. but hey are "only HD motor guys" i try and try to get them to do the heads on my metrics to no eval, we tend to do our own porting and polishing though

Yea, I'd like reliable more than anything at this point...Harley dudes that won't touch metrics? There's a surprise! ha, thanks though!

I have used the Ducati dealer(MCC) in Villa Park for valve work. The old timer that does the machine shop work is pretty cool and he seemed excited to work on my older 350 heads. I have bought odds and ends parts there over the years and they happy to have your business even though it's not ducati or triumph parts. The other good thing is you get to check out the new triumphs, ducati's and some times an occasional apprilia.

Man, I sure would love a new Thruxton or pretty much any Ducati for an everyday rider...I need to get a big contract before I spend that kind of dough though!
