Love me some Minis

Reinhard

Coast to Coast
Here's a couple of pics of my two favorite cars
the first one is a 99 Cooper S with 17" wheels, race suspension and supercharged.

The second photo is my beloved RHD 1978 1275GT. This is the car that replaced the Cooper when Cooper stopped putting his name on the crap Leyland was producing during the '70s

I no longer own either of these vehicles but I loved them like they were my children. :::sniffle:::

Yeah Ive seen that video before. It's an amazing machine. And having owned one of these tin cans I can tell you the driver would need to be wearing a diaper .

Yay for Minis! Here's mine waiting in line for some hijinks and tomfoolery at Road America one day:

DSC03573.jpg

It's a 2006 S model, with the JCW intake and LSD. I bought it new and proceeded to flog it for 83K miles. Today I drove it about 70 miles through a snow storm and kicked everyone's butt. Every SUV in a ditch made me giggle a little bit. Light car + snow tires = rally time!

I drive a MINI. 2005 Cooper S. Yellow with white top and wheels. It's a love-hate relationship. They are serious pain in the asses to work on and expensive to pay someone to do it, but very fun to drive!

That is so painfully true. Everything is in the way of everything else. The dealer charges BMW labor rates so after the warranty ran out I've done all my own work. Luckily I have small hands.

I hear that. Mine's a 2006 S, white with black roof. Bought her used just over a year ago, and already had to replace the thermostat gasket and fuel pump. The sunroof stopped working while open, so once I got that closed manually, I haven't touched it. Thought I had the light trifecta, but thankfully, it was just a fuse. I've never had so many problems with a car or so much fun driving as with this MINI. Check out www.northamericanmotoring.com if you haven't already.

These cars are a hoot. But like having a cafe in a hick town, having a mini is just as interesting haha. I will second the winter comment though, nokian tires+snow on roads = passing people in big slow 4x4's hehehe. '06 cooper s

Update: Not just a fuse. Frickin trifecta. Put some new wheel sensors on and bought a ScanGuageII. Love it and highly recommend the SGII. It's one of the few computers that can reset the SES light on a MINI.

Dang Achilless, is anything original left on that car? I bet she flies! Post all you want.
