Maritime's new GL - 2UP Distance eater

LOL I did get the dolly made, only I used wood where Brad would have welded steel. It is a little 4 caster job I will put under the front of the 1100 to be able to move it around after I pull the front end off. Got the jack under the front of the 1100 but that was as far as I got. this weekend should allow me to get the front end stripped. checked over and refreshed. I think I am going to paint the lowers though so may be a while before I get the front bolted back up.

if you go in to detail on your painting of the lowers that wud be cool ::) I hope its as simple as sand prime paint

With Epoxy it is as simple as clean, sand paint. no primer needed with it. But it has to cure for like a week before you go monkey with it 14 days is better.

Got the 1100 front completely stripped. Now I need warm weather to get the triples, lowers etc all painted. I didn't take any pics yet but maybe later. Worked for about 4 hours and forgot phone upstairs and so if I get the energy to go back down there will be pictures.

Some progress pics. This was 4 hours work with gimp leg. The brakes were serviced pretty recent. Fluid was clean and pads are brand new. So a new master and lines and a quick bleed and it will be stoppies lol.

Thanks man, I stopped before I pushed to far. My dad in law was being my conscience today. ;D I am going to have it ready to ride this spring, and myself too.

Lower triple in epoxy. Try for upper later. Wire wheeled it, heated it, heated paint, sprayed quick in garage then brought into house to cure.

Lower installed. Upper painted, it's next once paint dries enough. Next is forks apart and lowers clean and paint.

Was able to get away with that much painting without fumes getting upstairs. So I should be able to get a lower each day after I get forks apart. Gotba box coming with fork seals, fork oil, oil filter, new front tire and new cables, I'll swap the ones in the photo and keep the 1-2 ok ones as backup.

For fucks sake I can't post shit today.

Yay pics. I got the one leg lower off and all cleaned and ready for paint tiday. Second leg is being a dick about the circlip so I am letting pb blaster work on the rusty shit so I don't break it. Once it's off and clean I can get them painted, should be 10 outside so getting garage up to the 16-18 needed should be doable

Funny thing, right leg oil was almost new so something got in the left leg to make the oil that bad.

Um..Water? ::)

At some point you rode in the rain and sucked some water in. those are big pumps if submerged, I wonder if you have something directing drainage right down the fork leg.

Yeah water bnt not me riding. These came off a parts bike. I am rebuilding and will put Gators on so shouldn't get water in again

So second lower off, all cleaned and then heated garage and shit the epoxy paint. My foot is now killing me so I had to quit for a bit, but I have all the parts to finish forks and I ordered Gators. Next is front wheel paint, then brakes. I got the exhaust off the 1100 and swapped the hangers to make it fit the 1000. Just need to clean and bolt it up. It's rusty but solid.
