Maritime's new GL - 2UP Distance eater

Ready to roll!

Get some ABS plumbing cement on that left side cover before it cracks any farther. I reinforce on the back side with fiberglass cloth bedded in cement.

No prob and the bags arent that big. Ill get a pic outside with them on. On another note took her for a father son ride. Top speed was 70 kph because thats as fast as the 50cc can go right now. Went for ice cream. He did good getting over his crash from last season and the ol girl ran great even though I didnt get out of second gear.

Great to hear your boy is back in the saddle, and ice cream makes any motorcycle trip infinitely better - every time.

Well, darn...left side has damage, right side is good...

So been 2 years but the old girl needs a refresh again. Decided to repaint as I have scratched and buggered the tins good. I want to redo the cover on the seat and paint the cowl part as well this winter. Did a quick POC on the colour scheme and I like it, I'll get some GL1000 decals made for the side covers as well. Going with good ole Blue and White with red pin stripes, red wing logo's for the tank. I'll clean up some rust and do some other needed maintenance like timing belts which will require a fush of the coolant as well. Right after I decided on this

Colour scheme they announced the new 750 Transalp and I've been waiting for that bike as I just may have enough bills paid off next spring to actually treat myself to a new bike. I want a long travel suspended bike for our really crappy roads and to also do some of the dirt around the province. Just so happens the new girl wears the same dress.

I would recommend getting on the list as soon as dealerships announce taking pre orders. If the trend is anything like the T7, they are gonna sell like hot cakes. Yamaha was letting people order with a refundable deposit, and if you can swing it, that will likely be the way to go.

yep, as soon as they get pricing and confirm it's available I'll be heading to the local Honda dealer to secure one if I can. I haven't asked the boss yet but have been dropping hints LOL.

That TA is gorgeous. But, will the hefty lady let her share the bed?
She better LOL. My spine can't take the abuse our roads throw at me anymore on the GL. I'll keep her for touring the better roads on trips but local rides I need longer travel suspension. After riding a buddies Strom and it being so smooth where the ole girl kidney punches me, I need something. Was thinking a used Strom but the TA is just too perfect.

A little more done over the weekend when I could squeeze in a few min. Gonna paint the seat hump and then do just the cover on the base and back. It's pretty rough but getting smoother
