Moving the ignition key...Where are you guys putting them?

I'm using an LED switch on the triples too:

However it will be wired in to act as a trigger for the relay in addition to the RFID so you can switch the ignition off from the handlebars as opposed to having to swipe the tag again.

Those switches are nice. I bought a few extra. Where/how are you planing to wire up the start switch?

My CB is undergoing version 2.0 in about 5 weeks so the tank and tail are getting replaced and Im going to run more discrete hardlines for the oil and vent lines going to the fuel tank. Ill have to re-wire most of it again, so I might entertain more options when it comes to the operation of switches. I was thinking of using one of these:

Maybe hooking it to my Hi/lo beam to turn on and off the ignition. I havent really sorted it out yet.

Not using it as a stater button as I have that on the right control block, so it seemed redundant to have 2. I've got rid of the whole ignition block so that part will be completely live (in the RUN position) when the RFID/Relay is activated. I will send the RFID LED light to the switched LED feed (it will also have a feed from the ignition when its live) so you can see when the RFID is being activated. The switch will come off the ignition block connections as an extra feed so it will continue to light up once the ignition is live. The output switch will go back into the relay so that once the ignition is live you can feed 12v back to switch the relay off.

Does that make sense?

great thread! This is just what I was looking for. I recently posted a question about this subject so I might as well ask here as well. The normal key ignition has 2 settingsl; ACC and On. How do you eliminate the ACC setting?

On my 71CB450K4 I hated the stock location for the ignition switch, which was located directly above the left header pipe.

So I waited until the build was complete before I check out other possible locations and finally decided on moving it to just below the left carburator bowl bolted to the the engine and tool kit mounting point.
