Hi guys,
Today I "finished" my Caféracer project and had the chance to take a few pictures in the sun. You say "a biker's work is never done" but to be honest: I always have a clear target/picture in mind and if I reach that, there are only minor changes and improvements. Here is what I did (brief overview)
- Cut the rear and added a custom glasfibre rearend with DIY seat (the seatpan is an old traffic-sign that says "no passing" ;-)
- I rolled it matte black and painted skulls on the white stripe with a "Sharpie"-marker which should be uv-resistant and waterproof. I added vintage Honda Badges from the seventies
- I dropped the fork and added Telefix-clipons which are adjustable in 3 different axes. Added turnsignals there and some crappy mirrors
- I cleaned up (or rather minimised/hidden) the electric and installed a DIY-mini-battery on the swingarm
- I installed a multi-instrument with a huge tach that takes RPM and speed electrically instead of the mechanic lines. Speedo-sensor is at the rear wheel for a clean frontend
- Megaphone exhaust (no comment ;-)
- Full alloy brake cylinder of a SevenFifty and reinforced clutch
- A few zipties, duct tape, insulation, bolts, nuts, blood, sweat, no tears etc.
There are more pics and I might post a few more updates on my (english) blog bikes-and-shit.blogspot.de in the future.
I've got a set of Tarozzi-footpegs laying around, might change paint/seat but I don't dare to remove the airbox (my old CX died just because of that mod). But no more plans. This is a 1000 buck build (including donor bike) and the rest is meant for maintenance
