Need help on a BMW R90S

I am in the process of restoring a '74 R90S that was a barn find. It is a total frame off restoration/engine rebuild. Just got the motor apart enough to see that the crankshaft is cracked. Does anyone know if the R90S crankshaft is the same as what BMW used in in the R60/R70/R90? I am pretty sure these are compatible with the R90S, but thought I better check since this is the first time I have jacked around with a R90S. Best regards,

I don't know for sure, but I'd bet they are. To my recollection all the R90S differences were in the carbs, and maybe cam? But I think for the most part it was the different carbs and of course the cosmetic and perhaps suspension differences that set the bike apart.

I have an R75/6 for what its worth :) Nice find - would love to see some pics. Going Daytona orange?

I think Tim is right. The r50/r60 cams are the same. The r75/r90 cams are the same. And I believe they all share the same size crankshaft.

You guys are great - thanks for the help. I found a crankshaft on eBay. Now I need to buy cylinders, as the right one has a small crack. As far as the color, the bike is currently smoke silver and I think I am going to keep it that way. Best regards,
