Hi Guys,Im new to this forum and need some advise.I found a cb 175 1969 model,in very good unrestored condition, with 16000 kms or miles not sure. The bike does not start due to not being started for about 15 years,it also has a NOS exhaust system still in the original boxes. What do you think this bike is worth?
Your help would be much appreciated....Regards Gk

hello,
well i bought my cd175 for 600$.
that was running, and just needed tires for saftey.
after that the bike went under construction, engine frame etc... put about 2000 into it with out opening the engine, all together.
then the cam chain went on it, and had to open it and cost me another couple hundred or so.
if you can get it for 200-300 hun, and maybe does'nt need that much to get it running, may be good. but i would wait and find one in good condition and running. because it will take some coin to get things going. i bilt two of these and a couple cb500f's, and these old bikes can ( although be fun and great to build ) be expensive to build, if you don't have a good base to start with.
that would be my advice to you.
good luck

What he said^^

Or, buy it, and sell the parts on eBay. If youre in love with it, you'll need to know it costs around 250 to make it run safe. (tires/oil/carbs/). Its hard to name a price without seeing the bike. if you could provide a picture it would help!

I second the request for a picture. Also curious about whether Seller has the title. A titled bike is worth double a non-titled bike IMO. An untitled is practically only useful as parts for a titled bike (unless you live in certain state and can re-title it) so such a bike is typically sold for about $1 a cc (depending on rarity, condition, etc. of course). I bought a titled CL175 from a fellow DTT'er for $200, but it was missing quite a bit. $600 seems reasonable if everything is there and in good condition plus you get some NOS parts, but I would definitely try to go way under that.

yes i agree,
if it has a title it is worth abit more, and also with out a pic it is really hard to say.
but i would have to say if it is your first bike??? or your looking to have it going and on the road for the next couple of months. then i would say don't buy a parts bike, spend alittle more if you have to and get some thing you can get moving with out any major repairs, then you can have the means later to get working on some mods if you so choose to.
any way, it is your money, and if you feel you need to buy this bike, and love the look, etc...... then do it and don't look back, with out the regret of buying it. when i bought my three, i did that and when i dropped money back into them it did not bug me because i knew that going in to buying them. you know what i am saying??
again with out pics it is hard to say, but if it is in good condition and dos'nt seem like to much work to put in. i would say less than 600$ and more than 450$. some where in there, try and get it for the least for sure.
good luck,
cheers

also it depends on where you are located.
like in the states the prices of bikes are lower i find than here in canada.
so that is some thing to consider aswell.
