New 79 CB750

Hey everyone. I’ve been scouring this forum for weeks digesting all the information I can. It’s been about 10 years since I’ve been on a bike and I miss it like crazy. Finally talked my wife into letting me get a project bike to tinker with as long as I tried to keep the costs low, so... anyway, got a ‘79 CB750K yesterday with 3,234 original miles and all original parts (some in boxes). It’s runs rough because the owner installed pods (no judgements on pods vs original air box, but it is definitely not tuned right) and has some cracked lights and side covers from being dropped. Even had the original tires. Since DMV is currently closed I’ll take this time to get it running right, replace consumables, and then ride it for the rest of the summer/fall until I dig into it a little more deeply. Thanks for all the info I’ve gotten so far and I look forward to interacting with y’all.

Welcome! Should be a nice bike to get up and running and cruise on. Looks like a pretty solid survivor.

Well alright alright alright - love these bikes and with super-low mileage? Great find, and welcome

As far as I know. Everyone has a story, but I was told this guy's uncle bought the bike in 1979, road it for the season and bought an HD. The guy I bought it from rode it around very little, dropped it moving it around in his garage and then parked it for 35+ years. It's a cool bike and I'm really looking forward to digging into it.

Looking good there. That bike may have seen some weather, but still looks like a pretty good survivor.

Those are original wheels I believe, mine were the same. I put a few thousand miles on her and let her go. Was a smooth ride from what I remember. Make sure you give proper attention to to the charging systems health before taking it too far from home! Pic of the wife next to it near Hocking Hills in Ohio.
