Hey guys I know my new bike isn't a cafe racer and this will be my only post about it on here but you guys are incredibly helpful and want y'all's expertise.

So I have an 02 Honda shadow 750. That I picked up for 500.00. The catch is it needed some work including fixing an oil leak in the bottom of the crankcase where a po high centered the bike. I don't have the money to fix it properly or the expertise and time to do it myself. Po solved it by applying jb weld. Is it advisable to do that again?

It'll work, but isn't a real fix (as you seem to understand). If you're just trying to ride, go for it. Just know it'll likely fail.

Not a bad temporary repair. The key to making it work is to drain out the oil, and clean the area really, really well to get a good bond. Silicone sealant is another alternative.

Quite possibly, the best solution other than an actual repair, is this spray on product from Permatex:

There is some aluminium welding around in a tube. Now, i don't know how well it works, but you could always try it. Remember, when it fails you wont notice untill your oil light comes on. it'll be to late then....

its a white powder and some clear liquid. ive seen it somewhere but cant find it anywhere anymore..

Not sure about the aluminum welding since it already has jb weld on it.

Yea guys I know its not a proper fix but it worked till the last guy started picking it off. And yes alphadog its pretty empty already and i'm going to drain whats left and clean it up real nice with wax/oil/dirt remover the type you use for painting. might even scuff it up a little before i clean it to give it some tooth.

Thanks for the advice guys.
