Hi all,

I found my way here a month or so back via the Bike Shed Motorcycle Club & Bike Exif blogs.
At the young *cough* age of 34 I've finally got round to doing my CBT and will be taking my direct access later this month.
I've been around bikes most of my life, my Dad being an avid biker (owner of an old Honda CB450 'Black Bomber') and growing up in & around the biker community in Ashby de la Zouch just a few miles away from both Donington & Mallory Park.

After completing my second 1000km+ bike tour around Vietnam while visiting my younger brother earlier this year (this time with my GF pillion),
I decided I couldn't live any longer unable to ride on the roads of my country so I've saved up to do my tests and get me a ride.

My brother in the meantime had a few custom jobs done on his bike in 'Nam and throughout the year he and I have been discovering the online scene of cafe and brat customs.

Finding this forum has been an absolute godsend, the amount of inspiration, technical knowhow and advice I've already garnered from here has been mindblowing and I've barely even scratched the surface.

Bolstered with all the info I've found here and elsewhere I decided I'd like to try working on a bike for myself.
After trawling eBay/craigslist/gumtree for the last few months I am now the proud owner of a 1977 Honda CB750 K7 and just took delivery of it this Thursday.

I will be starting a build thread shortly and look forward to the journey ahead.

Good times everyone - so happy to have found you ;D

Welcome to the site, I'm based in Manor House! Working on a CB550 myself, looking forward to following your thread.

Great to meet you Green199 and cinqmars2 :)

cinqmas2, do you have a build thread up yet? I'd love to see it.

I use this site for info mainly, no thread, I started one on the UK SOHC Four forum but I never update it, just ask the odd question here and there. It's a good site if you need info/parts and the guys are super sound and will go well out of their way for you.

Here's mine if you're interested, I've got usage of a studio with some kit if you're ever in need. If anything it's just a good place to be able to make a mess in, we've got a MIG welder, small pillar drill and I've got an assortment of bike related tools so just get in touch if you need anything and I'll see if I can help!

Thanks cinqmars2, really good to know there's help nearby!
I have a small flat so decided it was best to try do the majority of the build back at my folks as my Dad has a decent garage and tools.
Plus I get some quality time with the old man as an added bonus :)

Out of interest I'm going down to the Bike Shed Motorcycle Cub event this weekend - will you be going along at all?

I will be yes, with my dad as it happens! I'll be going on the Saturday, there should be a few people from here going I'm sure.

Ha great! mine was going to come along, but got invited to see an old family friend who visiting the country for that weekend only (timing eh?!)

I'll be going the Saturday to with my other half and a few friends in tow - if you recognize me from the pic in the build thread, pop over and say hello, it'd be great to meet you.

All the best and here's the first few pics of the bike!
