Hi all,
I found my way here a month or so back via the Bike Shed Motorcycle Club & Bike Exif blogs.
At the young *cough* age of 34 I've finally got round to doing my CBT and will be taking my direct access later this month.
I've been around bikes most of my life, my Dad being an avid biker (owner of an old Honda CB450 'Black Bomber') and growing up in & around the biker community in Ashby de la Zouch just a few miles away from both Donington & Mallory Park.
After completing my second 1000km+ bike tour around Vietnam while visiting my younger brother earlier this year (this time with my GF pillion),
I decided I couldn't live any longer unable to ride on the roads of my country so I've saved up to do my tests and get me a ride.
My brother in the meantime had a few custom jobs done on his bike in 'Nam and throughout the year he and I have been discovering the online scene of cafe and brat customs.
Finding this forum has been an absolute godsend, the amount of inspiration, technical knowhow and advice I've already garnered from here has been mindblowing and I've barely even scratched the surface.
Bolstered with all the info I've found here and elsewhere I decided I'd like to try working on a bike for myself.
After trawling eBay/craigslist/gumtree for the last few months I am now the proud owner of a 1977 Honda CB750 K7 and just took delivery of it this Thursday.
I will be starting a build thread shortly and look forward to the journey ahead.
Good times everyone - so happy to have found you ;D
