new project (restarted) Finished!!! dust bin resurrected

Re: new project (restarted)

thanks guys! Slice I think it will be strong enough, befor as a dirt bike swing arm, all loads were transfered to the mono shock, now that there is duals over the axle the swing arm now just needs to keep everything together. Its prety think aluminum, so I think it will hold, and I am going to leave the holes uncovered. Water should not be an issue since it is not street leagal.

weld some tubes in there. would look awesome, and would retain it's integrity.

where were you before I painted it!! That would be cool though.

Re: new project (restarted)

This thing is bad ass. I love the small bikes. My 90 is almost finished, and I've got a street fighter in the works, but this makes me want to build one of these bad boys... damn you :)

Re: new project (restarted)

thanks all for your encouragement. So I was able to salvage the cb125 mechanical front brake caliper! Soaked for 24 hrs in evaporust and she freed up then another 24 for the seperated parts and she was like new! wire wheeled the main body and painted part to look like mag. here is a pic.

Re: new project (restarted)

laced front wheel and mounted tire and brake. everything fits and works, so now I will start body work.

Re: new project (restarted)

what tires are you running? I am doing a rebuild right now of a cl90 and putting on the cb125 front end.

Re: new project (restarted)

these are 17, so they wouldnt work for you for the 18s on my cb125 I used Bridgestone bt39ss 2.50x18 they are awsome. You can get them at a Honda dealer through american Honda NOT through there Bridgestone rep. here is a pic of those.

here they are on the bike

Re: new project (restarted)

You have 2 cool bikes?! nice work.

excellent stuff fella.

Re: new project (restarted)

Thanks guys! The crankcase breathers are from Auto zone or Advanced autoparts. All the old school honda race bikes justed left the long tube open but I thought the filter looked kind of cool. Think they are like $9. Von horror bizz is looking sweet!!!!

Re: new project (restarted)

You have to love xmas, girlfriend got me all the parts needed to make it a runner!!!!!! It is starting to look like a bike now, here is exhust and some controls mounted.

Re: new project (restarted)

Such a gem. :)

Re: new project (restarted)

I havent been able to stop screwing with it all weekend already. Post some updates when the clipons get here.

Re: new project (restarted)

So it will with out a doubt be a dust bin!!!! I went to my trusty vintage salvadge yard and picked up a jackwal super wedge, no windscreen or headlight glass, but $50. It will make the perfect dustbin with some mods. here is a pic of one.

Re: new project (restarted)

Fair play, that fairing is fucking outrageous.
I am in shock that such a heinous design crime could be committed.
Bloody perfect base for your dustbin.
Sweet.
