New tail light - extra wire

Just got anew tail light. It has 3 wires - red, stripe and black. The existing wires on my Virago have 4 wires. I believe two of them are ground (black) . Do I just combine the two black wires into one bullet connector to attach to the new light's ground?

After using a meter to confirm the 2 black wires on the bike are indeed earths , yes
