Hey everyone,

Pete Smith here. aka Phreakanature.

Thought I'd finally stop lurking and intro myself. I've been riding bikes forever. I just recently bought my first CB and have been working hard on getting her road worthy. Someone had started converting her, but it needed a lot of work. These photos are in progress shots. She's a 73' CB750. I've added a few Carpy parts on it, as well as some other goodies. I am in the process of building a new rear wheel that isn't hand brush painted with house paint. I've also been doing electrical repairs, and it will need to be jetted and tuned up for spring.

Some of you may know me from other boards or seeing me on some of my other bikes. Only reason I say that is they are not very common. I also have an Aprilia RSV Factory, and a KTM 990 Adventure.

I'm a designer by day, working at a local studio specializing in brand strategy, and package design.

More importanly, (only because I much prefer this job), I'm also a Certified Canadian Safety Council motorcycle instructor for Sheridan college.

Hope to meet up with some of you soon. I'm going to need some help at some point, I'm sure!

here are a few images...

damn man....i didnt even see your post. thats a SWEET 750 you got there, i think the only thing i would change is the tail section to a boxy style to match the tank, nonetheless, sweet bike.

Hey Pete - welcome to the site - awesome bikes - thats a great looking CB750. Looking forward to seeing more about the changes you have planned for it. Is the new rear wheel a stock 18" unit or are you putting on an alloy rim of some form?

Gotta ask - why the tweek bar on the front forks?

I like the way the seat picks up on the curves of the sidecovers. Tank looks like it has some curves too. What kind of tank is it? Almost looks like a Dunstall?

im fairly certain thats a real dunstall tank....well wait for him to chime in, im pretty interested now because that looks like a thread gas cap

Welcome Phreak! ;D

Cool fleet of 2 wheelers you have there! 8) You've got something for every mood that might strike you! :D

Regarding the CB, in the first pic the tail (at first glance) doesn't seem to go with the tank. After a look at the group pic, the tail/tank combo looks much better to me! 8)

In any case, nice bikes! Looking forward to connecting sometime! :)

Thanks everyone. I've done a fair bit of work lately. I have been adding odds and ends, updating the controls with NOS, a polished triple, and I now a matching set of finned engine covers on it.

The tank is in fact an actual Dunstall tank. (There are identifying labels on the underside, which removed all doubt when I was shopping.) The filler cap on it is a flip up fitted from a Norton. As for the lines, in relation to the tank and rear seat section, I guess it is personal taste, and I like it. I plan on adding some pin striping to the tank and seat, that I hope will pull it all together.

As for the rear wheel, I am building another 16" wheel to match the front. I haven't gone crazy with the wheels yet. I'd love a set of anodized rims, but my money is going other places.

Once the new wheels and rubber are on, I'll take a new photo with all latest additions.

Do you mean another 18"? Looks like a 16' rear already. Yes, although it looks good now, it would look better with 2 18"s.

No, I mean I'm putting on another 16" chrome rim to match the look of the front wheel. The one on there now, as I got it, was hand painted with house paint. I think in future, I will look at other configurations and put alloy 18s on, but in the mean time, I like the look of the 16.
