Hello everyone, I'm Thomas Panton a newbie here from Blythewood, SC. I picked up a new 1979 Honda CB550 just a couple of weeks ago and feel proud to become an owner of it. Looking forward to knowing something more about it from the other owner.

does your tag actually say 79

cb550 was made from 74-78 according to what i knew

is the build date in 79 or was it built in the last of 78

just curious
 
I was just through your neck of the woods. I live in Toronto but am in Bluffton SC for the next couple of years for work. I drove up to Charlotte and bought a bike yesterday to have down here to ride.

My first real bike was a 550. We have the service manuals online here if you search for them.
 
Welcome to the fold. I'm in Augusta, but graduated from Carolina and lived in Cola for 12 years. The wife is from Lexington. Don't be a stranger to some hanging out or riding around, especially if you end up at Meltdown and whatnot.
