(NH) 1981 XS650 - $1000

Building a bettery daily.
I've been REALLY happy with my little cl360 and my gsxr750, and I think it's finally time to hand the xs650 off to a new owner. It has side covers, but I took them off so you can see the PO's wiring 'fix' (there's duct tape as insulation against the side cover). I only put 400 miles on it last season (spent most of my time on the Honda) and I don't care if you plan to bob it, chop it, cafe it, or flip it, as long as it ends up getting ridden in the end.

Good:

It starts and runs

The paint is pretty

The seat isn't ripped or worn

Strong compression (149psi left, 148psi right)

Strong spark

14k miles is low, so less overall wear

Could be yours
Bad:

Doesn't belong to you yet

Wonky duct tape wiring vibration insulation

Right mirror threads are stripped

Idles badly (wandering idle between 1500 and 4k - vac leak?)

Front brake is sticky

14k miles over 33 years typically means a bike sat for awhile

Not quite ready to be ridden home - bring a truck and I'll help load it
Just dropped it off at the shop to have whatever it needs fixed and inspected. I'll update my asking price accordingly once I get the bill.

Now that I have it back and it's running right, I wouldn't have any complaints about riding this all season. What a fun bike.
