Hello!
Just bought a Skyteam ace 50 here in Norway.
Its been running good but today it just won't start.
It doesn't seem to be getting a spark, measured the wiring going to the coil with a voltmeter and its nothing there.

Is it the little box before the coil which is the problem, if anybody have som good helping information about this it would be GREAT!

yeah could be.

anyway to test the cdi to see if its working right?

Its strange if the cdi is broken already, bike is almost brand new..

Not easily, no.

Check and make sure you have good continuity from the black/yellow wire going from the CDI unit to the coil.

Also make sure that the black/white wire is not grounded.

Ok will check that out, worst case scenario is there any "universal" ignition kit that would work?
From a proper brand possibly?
Have a feeling that most the stock parts are shit.. :D

00racing have a big bore kit witch includes another cdi, maybe thats the way to go.

Its the same unit as on the picture

Been fixing old bmw s to this point , and that seems way more simple know :D

Its the electronic who fucks it all up, should be mechanical in my opinion ;) can't go wrong with that

!6000km so far with stock CDI; far more reliable than points.

It's probably a good idea to locate the problem before randomly replacing components!
OORacing replacements will not provide any noticeable improvement - some owners have reverted to the original unit.

Crazy

So much more maintenance with points, thats true.

Dont know whats the problem yet so for all i know the CDI could still be good.

Hope its just a broken wire some where and thats it...

test your pulse coil while cranking, meter on AC millivolts

if anyone has an ace 50 wiring diagram post it up please thank you

clearly it is a lihua cdi, they are extremely common and usually reliable

Fairly simple. Looks like it uses Honda colors, mostly.

Thanks matt.

Unplug your CDI

With your meter on AC millivolts, and a partner to help because its much easier, test the Black/Red and Red/White leads while cranking the bike. Report results.

Please understand i am not refering to the ignition coil i am refering to the pulse/trigger/ hall effect, source coil. It has many names but only one function, to send a signal to the cdi to tell it to spark.

What we are looking for at this moment is ANY reading. Tell me what that reading is, stop talking about it and do it.

I am not telling you what it is or isnt, i am telling you how a professional technician would diagnose your issue. It may or may not lead to the cdi.
