Northeast States Café Racer Convergence - by CRoNE

Been Around the Block
So, I'm a bit surprised to not have seen this up here earlier. But anyway, Greg from Cafe Racers of New England has been setting up a New England cafe and vintage meetup in Springfield MA July 15th.

Details as given on Circle One One:

I plan on riding out from the Boston area and I know there are a few people posting about coming up from CT and at least one dude doing 3+ hours from Maine. So gather up a pack and ride out.

I planned on riding down to this but sold my Vespa yesterday...If I can magically throw my other bike together in time I'll Def be Down

That's a bummer man. I almost got me a 70s 150cc Vespa, kick start only model when I first came out east. Those things are fun as fuck. If you wanna drive out anyway you can always block cops and traffic for me. 8) Any ride is welcome I'm sure

Bike aint running... but my Subaru is. Will you allow cages from NH in? ;D

Yeah, as far as I know. Iirc, the thing started out with a question from Greg on the Cafe Racers of New England facebook page about who would be interested in a gathering of cafes up by the Indian museum in Springfiled.

I'm sure cages (from anywhere) are fine ;)

I might not have my bike road-worthy, but I'm sure as shit getting out there.

I have nothing to do with the event, I just love the idea. I don't know too many people who actually work on their own bikes in my area so this will be a great place to get some mounting/fab ideas, swap some stories and all that jazz.

This is all we get for interest for this ride? I have to say I know quite a few of us that belong to this forum in New England who wrench on their own bikes.
Come on, I was fortunate enough to meet the guys from New England Cafe Racers last year when we went to Rice -O- Rama.
If you can try to make this. I have seen it happen to many times where a group tries to organize and get a meet together. They do the 1st annual and that's it.

Good group, they deserve our support.

The facebook page (linked up there^) has a lot of activity on it. For some reason no-one on DTT is talking about it though. Maybe if we just keep bumping this thread some more folks will get interested...

All I know, is I'm getting out there just to check the scene with or without a bike. f'ing wiring...

The reason you are not seeing anything posted here is that we dont want something like what is happening to mid Ohios Vintage days.. Where its all a sell out with this (Mods V Rockers Bullshit ).

Its the same reason we dont post about any CT events happening.. and trust me you dont want to miss them....

We want to keep it as real and underground as possible... None of this sell out bullshit... Maybe there would be more posting on this site if we said cafe racer magazine would be there...(there not so dont get so excited)

Anyone can come but I hope your on some sort of Custom Caff inspired bike....

On just a side note.. there are more parties making this happen then just CRoNE....Although Greg is really pulling out all the stops with famous people showing up..

Well, unfortunately the only bike I have is... well a nasty little POS :D I have no friends or acquaintances in the Cafe world. I have no garage to build in. Just the tools and parts I can afford to fix the bits that fall off on the road. But "inspired"? I got that. Inspiration is one of the two things I'm full of.

I can fully respect wanting to keep a scene local or underground. Personally, I've never even appreciated most scenes in their pure form to begin with. The way I see it, I'm not part of a club, not a Rocker, just a guy that likes to wrench and ride. Hope that's good enough for admission. Hell, you guys can kick me out if you want ;) . Just let me check out how you routed those cables first or maybe I can buy you a round and get you to explain the ins and outs of carb jetting.

Great little get together. Shame my bike wasn't ready, but I still got to meet some pretty chill folks and some riders in the area. Some real fucking nice bikes too. Got a couple ideas on things I'd like to accomplish on my own ride.

Rocker - don't know if our paths crossed or not I didn't exactly introduce myself as Rattpunk to anyone ;) but I'll be hitting up that reunion in Sept.

HA! I definitely recognize the boots! ;) only white fur capped ones around.

I actually figured that might have been you. I was a bit less conspicuous, short guy in a scall cap, new tattoo may have stood out.

Hell of a bike you've got btw.

See ya round.
