Obey Sticker bombing

I wanted to be a little different with my 1981 GS550t cafe racer project so I decided to go with a sticker bombing instead of a paint job. Its much cheaper than a professional paint job and should turn some heads. I ran out of stickers for the tank so I will have to complete the bombing then clear coat with a few coats it in a few days when the rest of the stickers arrive. It is turning out pretty good, there are a few wrinkles but over all im pleased.

I wish I could get hold of some of the Banksy Lady Di tenners to do this with - that would be funny.. maybe I can just do a high quality print of this image.

Finished the sticker bombing. I decided to do the side covers also, it turned out better than I expected. I have gotten a lot of thumbs up while riding..

I really like it on the tank but not sure about the side panels. I think if you had a fiber glass tail vs the bench and that was stickered it would look more complete. With out that i think side covers would be better black to match the seat.

I had to Google this. It was, at least for me, an interesting read, and I would have to agree.

Cool sticker job though!

Makes me wish I still had all those stickers from the bubble gum packs that I use to get. I could cover a whole bike ralley then! Football, baseball, hockey, Star Wars, Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica, and all the oddball shit like Garbage Pail Kids. Hell, even some goofy shit like CHiPS and The A Team and who knows what else.

i originally had them plasti dipped black but the over welming feedback was that I should also do the side covers. I thought it would be" too much" but I think it looks better

Nothing new under the sun - but Fairey has made a career out of taking other people's work and representing it as his own.

Agreed Rich,

He's a fake, a scammer, a shizter, and a sell-out to boot but he basically just started out as a street artist following the likes of Banksy and Space Invader. His stuff just got more mass appeal but then people began to realize he was just copying stuff and he lost his street cred, sold out and became part of the corporate machine.

I like the bike and the way it looks but it's no different to doing the same thing with Volcom or Hurley Stickers and if he's cool with that then that's great.

One could argue that he's used these stickers in unique way and create a unique piece of art out of art that was copied from original unique pieces.. in some why that's kinda ironic...

I think it looks fantastic. I just want to help make sure that asshole's name is linked with his "work".
