Over my head

Currently rewiring a 79 XS 750, I've purchased a motogadget munit to simplify. Has anyone done this and happen to have a wiring diagram? This is my first time doing anything along the line and its been a lot of trial by fire. The main issue I'm having is wire tracing, and have no clue about the set coming from the underside of the motor

Any positive help is good help

Thanks

Hey Dadbod859, welcome to the forum. This is quite a project if your new to wiring and electronics. May I ask how much experience you have with electronics before we start firing ideas at you?

This is the most in depth that I've gotten. Used to wire stereo and what not. I have a diagram that I can follow, but Im concerned about putting new wire to old components, headlight switch/starter switch etc.

I wired an M Unit to my BMW airhead, but I didn't make a wiring diagram. TBH, it's pretty simple stuff. Nothing as complex as the stereos. In most cases, you just need a signal wire to the M Unit (from a switch, for example) and a wire to the component. A good ground and power source for the M Unit. If you're using the M Button for the handlebar controls, then it's just a matter of running each wire from the button to it's source (hi beam, lo beam, turn signal switches, etc) then one signal wire to the M Unit.

When I was looking at m units I found a bunch of videos on youtube....pretty basic and easy but still tricky if you arent to electrical savvy. Which I am not....eventually I just found a color diagram and traced them to get a grip on what's what..then just connected properly.
