From the Oregon Vintage Motorcyclists website:

September 18, Saturday: Mid-Size Mid-Valley Motorcycle Rally: If it rains, the ride is cancelled. Designed for mid-size motorcycles, 250-500cc. 70 miles. Lunch after the ride at Rockin’ Rogers. Meet at Park & Ride, west of I-5 exit 248 (Turner/Sunnyside/Delaney Rd), Salem, OR. Ride leaves at 11:00am.

I'm not a member, but I've been to lunch with some of them in the Oregon/Vancouver area. I was the youngest guy there (at 31), but they seemed like a good bunch of people. Membership is not required for this ride, but they do ask that you let them know you're coming. The needed contact info is located here.

I'm in Vancouver, and am planning to ride 99 out of Portland on my 360. I don't really know anyone who rides, let alone vintage bikes, so if anyone is heading out of PDX, I'd love to tag along. Drop me an email (in profile) if you're interested in going.

Damn, would love to be there. I have to do work for my other business over in central Oregon this weekend and I dumped my bike on last weekend's ride so It's in need of some minor repairs. Sounds like a blast though. Let me know how it is.

Glad to hear you weren't too badly hurt, and that the bike is salvageable.

Who knows if the weather will cooperate anyways. Right now, it's "Showers likely" for the Salem area on Saturday morning. If it's dry at 9 or 9:30, I'm heading out. Hopefully the forecast will change or it won't start raining until the afternoon.

Hope you get the bike back on the road soon.

I believe so, but it was questionable enough in my mind that I figured it was going to have to be anyways, so I stayed in town. I was planning on going to SFRC's ride that same day instead, but my wife volunteered me to help load up our old fridge for some friends at the same time. By the time they left, I saddled up to go for a ride, and got about three blocks from my house when I felt the first rain drop.

Needless to say, I was fairly bitter.

The SFRC thing actually sounded like a bit more fun. Perhaps next time.

At least it's nice today and I get to ride.
