"Patina" The 1973 CB175 Cafe Racer

Cutaway faces the filter. With them faced in the proper direction slides should only fit in the correct side. The carb with the marked choke lever should end up on the left side.

Cool. So the "cutaway" is the angled slice on the bottom of the slide, not the grooves 90 degrees from that?

Another way to think of it is the air screw always faces the outside of the bike?

Got a little done over the weekend. I'm having a heck of a time getting my rear brake linkage working properly but I think I have an idea to fix that.

Also, I made a seat pan to get covered here once I get the tax return :p

Also got the tank emblems back on. It's crazy how much difference that makes.

I also made a tray to extend my battery tray to contour the seat to keep water a junk out that my custom fender wont reach.

Next on deck is getting all my electrical components bolted back on a wired up with my custom harness coming from Matt at Sparck Moto.

She's getting there!

Thanks sir!

Got the harness back from Sonreir at Sparck. Looks killer. I can't say enough about his service. He's walked me through a lot already and has taken extra steps to completely customize my harness.

Here she is: headlight, tach and speedo lights, DCC headlight and kill switches, front brake switch, aftermarket reg/rect, wired for electronic ignition, taillight, brake light and that's about it! Super clean.

Ah, and I also ordered a couple other items that should be coming in soon:

Peugeot 102 Front Fender: I'll use this to make a custom swingarm mounted mud guard to keep the road grime off the goods.

Steel Dragon Performance Velocity Stacks - can't say enough about Mike, great guy. I'll write a full post on these when in get them in. Super excited for these!

One thing I forgot to mention... Make sure that headlight shell is grounded. The indicator light on the top of it uses the shell for it's ground.

Do I need to add another wire? How would I go about doing that?

Stupid question, the bucket is connected to metal power coated ears and mounted right to the forks. That count?

Sort of. The ground connection from the front end to the rest of the bike can be suspect. The inside the neck is coating in grease and can be an issue. It's not always a problem, but if you notice your high beam indicator on the top of the headlight is too dim or doesn't always work property, a separate ground wire from the front end to the coil mounts will almost always sort it out.

Ah, ok that makes sense. So the grease acts as an insulator of sorts?

Is this something I should check out after I have everything plugged up and the EI installed and running, or something I should knock out now?

It'll only affect the indicator light on the top of the headlight. You can worry about it later (if it's even a problem).

So did you get it to run? What are the jets your using mine is stock and idles really high.

Haven't cranked it yet. I have to get the wiring laid out and then the electronic ignition installed.

Do you think your carb slides are installed the right way? That could cause that...along with a lot of other things I'm sure.
