PC or Anodize?

hey guys.. should i powder this front hub to match or should i look around to find someone to anodize the front hub and adapters that i need done? would a front pc hub look similar finish wise as the rear anodized hub? any help would be great.. i found a guy who can anodize the front hub but said it wouldnt be exact like the rear, would be a couple shades off...

we use anodized powders all the time, great finish and is a powder so it is much more durable than anodizing

Really? I figured anodizing would be more durable since it's chemically bonded, at I thought it was. Learn me right if I'm wrong.

anodizing stains and scratches really easy! it is a very weak coating... stronger than paint, but weaker than powder... hell a dish washer will remove coating, but it is clean and uniform, it will not peel off, but it is not near as durable as a powder would be
 
What JRK said. Many colors of anodizing does not have terrific color fastness under outdoor UV exposure. You are better off with powdercoat in a color that is close. You may find that the piece you have actually IS powdercoated, not anodized.

If the color is close, no one is likely to notice a difference between the front and back wheel.

ok.. yeah the rear is definitely anodized, but was unsure about the finish durability.. weird that they would do a hub anodized then cause of the beating from weather it would take etc... im having trouble finding places around town that stock gold powder that matches my rear hub.. anodizing guy said he could get it within a few shades.. im torn.. i cant really send out the parts cause i would have to send the rear wheel which has been assembled to match the golds up.. thinking i might just have this guy anodize and go from there.. hopefully it will hold up and look relatively close.
 
well would you like to powder my hub and adapters!?! haha.. how can we go about matching it to the hub i have finished without it being there in front of you? any possibility?
 
More than happy to! problem is the only real way to match it is to have in on hand. if we do not stock a match i could send the sample to our distributer for a match... if you can find a small part that matched and send that it would work... we can also lace and true the wheel once done if you need
 
had to google the "huntley outlet mall" in order to find out where your business was.. any reason you dont have the full address on your website? but im definitely interested in sending you what i have.. i have a place that is willing to do the hoop and spokes for me, but if you guys want to do it all maybe ill just send you the unfinished wheel as well as the finished wheel so you can match it perfect. ooh the reason it is not just out on the page is our shop take drop offs by appointment only as you need to get though the gate to get in to drop off parts. if the address was on the page we would get people just randomly stopping by while we are working or out on delivery. This way we can make sure we have plenty of time to sit down with the customer and be sure we come up with jsut what they want
