I know there aren't many members in central pa, but that is a shame because There is some amazing riding. If there is enough interest I would like to plan a meet and ride in early October. Post if interested. Thanks. more details to follow

Awesome! I will start to plan out route if I can get a few people interested. I will work at it a little tonight.

It's about 4 1/2 hours for me. I could probably make it.

Well this is Just a thought but to try to stay in a more central location I thought of a route that is a bit more southern than the Grand Canyon. The roads are "smaller" and more serpentine which is always good. In my opinions the views are better and it is much more remote. The route would go through the Pine Creek valley, following the creek most of the way. All the roads are in decent condition. Lots of winding fun roads and old bridges. The road at one point follows a world class trout stream and has an excellent restaurant that has a sweet deck overlooking the creek. (link attached) They also have gas near by. As of right now it would be about 80 miles. It could be more or less depends what everyone is thinking. I'll ride all day. :) I attached a few pics from a ride I did up there last year.

That's great! Sounds like this is going to happen. Justin, have you heard from any of the western PA crew? As far as a date goes......I know it will be tough to please everyone but I was thinking the weekend of October 6th or 13th (tentatively)

If the timing was right, it might be a possibility to happen during the trip to or from Barber in October :) I'll be driving past there around the 9-10th on the way down and the 15-16th on the way back up.

Tim, maybe we can hookup on your trip. If the stars are aligned, (that is, if I have money,) I will be riding down to Barber from Philadelphia. Philly is a few hours east and south of the PA Grand Canyon area, but depending on your route, we might converge. If I go, I am planning on camping at the raceway, but a travel mate to share a motel along the way might be cool. I figure it's a two days riding to get there, but I might want to take in a fair amount of scenic two lane roads in West Virginia and Virginia, so it may be three days of riding to get there.

I have off the weekend of the 13th if it matters. I would love to do this what date has been decided on? I could prob manage a weekday too if that's the case. I will request off mon the 15th too.

As of right now I'm planning on October 13th. Does that work for the majority? Sadly with my work/teaching schedule I cannot swing weekdays.

Not liely as that is the Saturday of Barbers, can you make it a little later? I may get to come down for a weekend later in October?

you'll miss the fall foilage if you wait till the end of october. For us short distance guys this can substitute the great vintage bike show we are missing.
