Coast to Coast

I placed second. 1st went to a Harley POS cafe racer. what can i say; if you want your feeling hurt, put your bike in a bike show.

love the bike bud! looks amazing! if i can offer two suggestions: 1. you should flip your headlight ears so they are not putting your front end so upright. 2. you should get some smaller gauges. Then you will win all the shows!

Not really concerned what the judges say. everyone else loaded their bike on a trailer, i rode mine 100 miles home. there were bikes with flat tires and no plug wires on them that placed at a "ride in" bike show. they invited the top three back to build a new bike and compete at bikeweek in the spring. i was the only guy in the show that doesn't own a professional harley custom shop so i think i'm gonna pass.

Well, I'm sure they voted the 1st place guy cause it was a Harley.. I guess they don't have a style points in the judging. I would have given you style points for 1. riding it there and it looking like that, and 2. its a honda so you know its good for another 20k miles.... and 3. it looks clean(not dirt wise)

i don't mean to sound like a cry-baby but this was the winning bike. I just don't find it apealing; not because its a harley, but because its ugly.

^^^ that bike is fuckin COOL. I love the compact front end and the long swinger and long tail. adds a slight drag race element to it almost.

its just not my particular flavor of volka. i'm not a cafe snob, it doesn't have to be a norton or triumph for me to love it. i did see the santiago choppers norley, that to me was sexy, this wasn't. like i said i rode mine home, that one was for sale. in the end i built my bike for me, so its always first place.

LAUGH!!! I just read the whole thread. when I posted I had just seen the pic on the home page, liked it, clicked through and commented without reading. somehow I always look like a dick, laugh.

congrats on 2nd, thats a great showing for a rider. Yogi's right, thats a great attitude, and one I share. although, I have yet to bring home a 2nd place honor. good on ya, bro.

The harley is cool, it is beefy but doenst look as fat as most and cafe ish, maybe call it cowboy coffee... But your bike lines work better together and the color scheme pops as the harley colors are not so impressive and the #3 on the side is weak looking on the hd.

Actually the only thing I really like about the Harley is that a harley guy actually took off the HD logo........Sorry, I had to wait for my world to stop rocking

I always got a kick out of how cheese-dick the harley swing arms are. It looks even more flimsy than usual on that bike.

I thought the swinger looked light, but yeah I guess that can translate to flimsy. Prob not a bike for the twisties, but more for straight line or just cruising (it is an hd). The bike def has broad shoulders up front and tapers down significantly towards the back.

My experience is... If you don't go in expecting to place, then your feelings won't be hurt if you don't. ;)

Fuck that! I'd go!
I'd show up with something "ratty" and "under construction", and when they asked "What's up with that?" I'd tell 'em "I work for a living and build outta my garage. I don't have a shop full of specialty tools and a 5 digit budget. And it takes me longer than an episode of Pimp My Ride to finish a bike."
