Want to do a frame up restoration. Still trying to figure out how to post. Hopefully this works.

Hi all, my name is Ray. I am hoping this forum can help me with this project. In the previous post you can see 74 RD350. I am going to do a frame up restoration. I posted this information on the forum. But I can't find. A little bit about myself. I am in my 60's and when I was a teenager. My buddies and I always wanted a RD350. I have some roadblocks physically. Due to a vehicle accident 2005. I ended up with a right leg amputated above the knee. Also my right hand and wrist are amputated. Thank goodness I am left handed. I have been around a toolbox all my life. So the ability to do the restoration in my mind won't be a problem. I have learned how to function with my disabilities. So it definitely will be interesting to do this restoration. I plan on starting after the first of the year. I will post pictures as the work begins. Hopefully I will be able to pick your brains when needed.

Wow, quite an undertaking with your disabilities. At first glance it looks like your starting point is a worthy candidate; good luck! There is lots of 2-smoker knowledge here in the DTT barn so hopefully you'll get questions answered and good advice. Curious, are you looking toward just a restoration or anticipating come form of adaptation so you can ride? (Sorry, hope I'm not being insensitive in asking that.)

It will be a restoration only. Just something for me to do. No problem asking, you were not insensitive. I got some parts with bike. It came with a tank and side covers with original paint There are some blemishes on the tank. So I haven't decided if I will keep the original paint or repaint.

Welcome! My very first bike project back in the early '90s was an RD350. Well multiples actually, I used parts of at least three bikes to make one track bike out of it.

Have fun with it!

Now that I have been surfing the web for parts. I have seen some café RD350. That might be the next project bike.
