Thanks, guys. Getting so close. Put oil in the 2T tank today, and have at least temporary clamps on all of the hoses. Tomorrow I need to bleed the rear brakes again as all of the pedal has gone away. After that is sorted I guess oil in the trany and gas in the tank and start kicking. This afternoon I rode the '79 GL1000 to Mountain Motorsports (~90 mile RT mainly interstate) to demo ride a 2021 Spyder RT Limited Sea-to-Sky. Nice, smooth, different. Getting to the age where this might be the next thing for touring with SWMBO.
 
The RD looks great. My SWMBO and I rode the Ryker 900 about a hundred miles this evening. I spent most of the morning helping a friend fix the wiring on his chopper!
 
She lives! Only took her for about 1.5 mile spin around the neighborhood, but she ran and shifted great. Front bakes are great Rear brakes need work (worn MC). Very happy to hear and smell the old 2-stroker again! BTW, I ended up putting a filter on each line.
 
SHAZBOT! Went into the garage this morning after coming home from getting our COVID 2nd vaccines. Smelled gas. Localized it to the bottom of the right side of the tank, inboard of the seam. The tank is now off and drained and a POR-15 repair kit is on order.

THAT'S eight hours I'll never get back! Using the POR15 kit on the tank isn't particularly difficult. It just requires attendance every half-hour until the quart or etching solution has sat on every bit of the inside of the tank. After you've already used the wash solution and rinsed it out. After the five hours it took me to cover everything in the etch stage, that was double-rinsed and an hour of drying commenced. I alternated heat gun blowing and vacuum cleaner sucking. Then the liner gets stirred well and poured in. Then seal it up and roll it around until you are pretty sure all areas have had the stuff run over it, then do it again to be sure. Then drain the remainder out and let the liner cure for four days. All I have to add is this better work!
 
POR-15 is well liked and supposed to be good. As long as you follow the instructions to the letter which it sounds like you did.
 
Looks good this morning. Looks like my masking kept it off the paint, too. Now to wait four days before it can be tested....
Well, have to get ready for the Possum Gathering this weekend anyway. Need to freshen the Hunley header paint (just a touch-up in-place), repack the trailer wheel bearings and wash the winter's grunge off of the trailer and truck. Looks like good weather for Friday, very sketchy for Saturday. But, that will change.
 
I fueled the tank with about a gallon today and there was no leakage. Engine started on 2nd kick and idled without choke after just a couple minutes. Adjusted the rear brake throw and I think it will be Ok. Tomorrow I hope to take a few spins on it.
