pods and sidecover

I got the uni pods for my cb350 and Im trying to install the side covers on, the problem is it doesn't feel very secure, Id hate to lose it while riding. The pods where suppose to come with these washer and rubber pieces. Do they work by holding the rod in place? mine didn't came with the pieces but I can probably find them at the hardware store. here is what they look like

Welcome to custom motorcycles.
Will have to figure so etching out to hold the covers.

While uni is better then most, pods are still a downgrade in my book.
And with the covers one can't even use the "for that look" cop out.

Just to quickly add to this, I run the same set up, and yesterday lost a side cover on the highways. 1969 CB350 right hand side cover. (White). Very sad but it's just cosmetic.

There's a rod running through the covers and airbox that keeps everything in place. Without it, the covers won't stay on.

I have this exact setup and have never had any issues. I don't think I have those pieces either. What are they even for?

I will second that. The previous owner of my cb360 ditched the filter boxes and flanged in some pod filters. No end of grief once this is done. It was running rich, fouling the plugs, I managed to get around this by taking side covers off and running a hotter plug b7es.

Then the other day my pod falls off. Old emgo pod. So I managed to find the same size pod but a K & N. So I bought and installed two new ones. Now the bike runs thin and it overheats. I tried putting the normal b8es plugs in and the side covers back on. No dice.

Instead of re-jetting the carbs I'm just going to go buy the old filter boxes and put them on.

How wondering if these uni-pods might not be the way to go. Anyone have a good experience using these after taking off the original filter boxes.

Ive been running these pods for a while with stock jetting and shorty muffler, everything seems to be fine. plugs looks good. I decided not to use the covers, because I might lose them. Its a little wobbly without those pieces I guess.

You can't jet a 350 or 360 (or early DOHC CB450/500) to run with pods.
The carbs need some precision modifications
