Post a pic of your latest purchase

the shafting i got is pretty common used, for linear bearings to ride on and air cylinders, the first bit i got at the surpluss steel yard they kept telling me "thats stainless steel" ... 8)....then i got some linear shafting online it worked great, ran out, needed more ordered online another couple 5' lengths from a diferent vender, but that turned out to be the hard as fuck stuff that really is un-machinable.i mean you could turn it kinda but it was like 60 rockwell :( then i just decided , fuck it why not go to the local guy...... hal aye looya i got a 12' stick in 3 days for around 45 dollers

Try Thompson Rod in your google search. ;)
On second thought, that is hardened, not chrome plated. :-[
Thomson shaft is only case hardened and straight as an arrow. Once you get past the first .040" or so it's soft

Solid as Morningwood....$30

Not really a purchase, I just picked this up from my Pop. He knows I like old motors.

Ha the bar is half hanging off anyway. Push to lube as well.

I will get a nice stainless grip made up for it. Bit bigger then what I need but hey.

Indeed it is. Getting to work on her today, hopefully have paint laid by the end of the day. Would like to have this thing up for sale in a few days.

If you are having a custom timing cover made up, why not point the logo wing in the forward direction? I always made it a point to obtain the right decals when I re-did my 550 (3 times).

(Same applies to BSAs)

A set of these: wings would set it off... and when you run em run me a set ;)

GP, those are tank badges I am using.

Tune, those would be awesome, but the time it would take on a manual mill, would be astronomical.

Found a water jet shop that will cut anything for $100 hr plus materials, Um thinking about running a full sheet of .200 aluminum and doing the counter sink myself, maybe anodize some. Doubt I will get in shit with Honda if I keep it to friends and "family"

Yikes, that is high. There is a shop here that does $65/hr for laser or waterjet.
That's a good price. Direct cost to run the water jet at dad's shop comes close to $50 hr. (Water, garnet, electric, maintenance, labor, ect). I think your getting a great deal at $65 an hour. $100 doesn't seem exorbitant or out of line to me

Less is better when yer payin, send the info... I use a shop with laser to do my demo kit tops with logo and drop panels, but they are a big shop and you can see thir brain up ther nose.

Went to a Swap Meet at an AHRMA race. Although it was small the quality made up for the lack of quantity.
