That's what I keep hearing... 'bout to find out. I'm having to do Tax, Title, Registration electronically & through the mail. Who knows when I'll actually be able to ride it. Of course there's a fairly limited amount of interesting roads nearby... Haven't done my insurance quote either, hoping to not get brutalized.IMO, the funnest bike on the market for street riding.
They are an absolute blast.
Yeah, I've been tryin' to find a clean one for $3500 or less for a while and usually its only run to death hooligan-ized, tried to stunt and failed bikes but this one popped up and it looked as advertised in person and he took my offer. So, I snapped it up.On my bike t o own someday list for sure
We can be on the road for 30 days before having to tag and title a bike/car here. That's what I keep hearing... 'bout to find out. The Cycberdrive Illinois site just says that expirations for License, ID, and Registrations are extended for 90 days after the offices re-open. Nothing about new registrations. We can be on the road for 30 days before having to tag and title a bike/car here.
So long as we have the paperwork showing we purchased it within that time frame, we're good to go.

That's just normal here. Nothing to do with the current situation. The Cycberdrive Illinois site just says that expirations for License, ID, and Registrations are extended for 90 days after the offices re-open. Nothing about new registrations.
Alloy oil reservoir tank...incoming soon. Not a bad price (£26 / $30) for such a thing, if it ends up holding a 1ltr of 2stroke oil and I can mount it correctly it'll be a winner.
Do you guys have to tax, tag, title as soon as you buy, before you can drive/ride it?
That's odd. Long as insurance covers it, you have 30 days here.Title and Taxes needs to be done right away, (I don't hold open titles even on flips). You don't have to register until you are ready to put it on the road... but no tags, no registration... no driving.
That's going to have temporary tags or most new car dealers can actually give you a proper permanent tag or transfer an existing plate and handle the registration. That's odd. Long as insurance covers it, you have 30 days here.
What about a brand new, off the lot, truck? Have to do all that before you can drive it home?

I'm still running on temp tags for the van I bought last month. Well, actually I put the tag that will get transferred from my truck to the van that has a current sticker that doesn't expire until July, and put the temp tag in my dash. We're being told that they are not enforcing expired tags, and that has been confirmed by a police buddy who told me they are being instructed to not pull people over or give citations for tag issues. Possibly not relevant to your situation, but still an interesting conundrum, nevertheless. The Cycberdrive Illinois site just says that expirations for License, ID, and Registrations are extended for 90 days after the offices re-open. If it were warm enough here I'd go ahead and ride it, I did the insurance and it wasn't bad at all. I have 2 other bikes so not like it's hard times.I'm still running on temp tags for the van I bought last month. I've been riding my sportster with a tag from my gt250 that expired in 2017. I always have my ducks in a row before really riding, but like irk said, they are instructed not to mess with tag issues right now, and getting it sorted away the right way isnt even an option at the moment.
This one was a trade to flip deal. It's actually an 883 with a 1200 top end. "Hate" to say, it's really a hoot to ride.I need another sportster to mod up. That was a fun build and a fun bike to ride. I wanna do an 883 with a 1275 kit....
