Post a pic of your latest purchase

Made another purchase today. Finally found a resonably priced boring bar with the accessories. Now I won't have to farm out my cylinder work.

Barber is a must see event for sure. I wondered if that wheel was from Barber as the guy selling across from us had one for sale. We commented that prices on them seem to be coming back "down to earth again" a bit as compared to the peak a few years back. I'm excited to see you use it, I assume on your current project!

I just rolled in at home from the swap, and while I only took a pegboard of patches to sell, I did pick up a few cool bits.

Really solid airhead tank that I might use on the r90/6:

Spoolie hub and 21" shouldered front wheel for an upcoming chopper project. Also grabbed an 4.00 18" hipster/poser/wannabe Firestone Champion sawtooth tire for the rear of said bike:

And a pair of Joe rocket leathers to match my well worn jacket:

I can't decide if that tank makes me thirsty for root beer, or porter.

Well, it's not technically my latest purchase (that'd be dinner) but it's my latest moto purchase, and I've been gone about 6 years. Bought this 2012 for a song about 4 weeks ago. Got shamed into getting back on here by a few losers who never left. Time to ride again..

Don't feel bad, I mostly quit posting for about 5 years. Moving half way across the country, covid, a few job changes, and projects getting relegated as not currently important were the cause. It happens, I partly lost interest in my main bike after it broke and then had to sit which caused more isssues.

Welcome back from a loser. What are your plans for it?

Mostly just put gas in it, and use up tires, I hope. It did have Clubman bars when I picked it up. My son said awesome, my back said nope. Previous owner threw a bunch of bits from British Customs on it too. Mufflers, air injection delete, tail tidy, etc. so I just swapped euro bars to it and some better mirrors. Plan is to just have a reliable gas and go ride for a while.

I actually hovered over the message button on that one for a few minutes. But for $300 more I got a running riding one that didn't "need" anything. I always pause when ads don't just come right out with the facts when repairs are needed. So far I'm quite happy with this one. About 400 miles on it so far.

Getting ready to clean some parts. I bought a variable speed bench grinder and immediately swapped out the grinding wheels for a wire wheel on the left and a buffing setup on the right. I got a shaft extension along with some abrasive discs and buffing wheels from a place called Pryme (https://www.prymemx.com). Good quality stuff. I even got some small abrasive wheels with a custom mandrel for my dremel for those tight corners.

If you want to keep your garage wall white you should consider moving that to another location. Buffing parts is DIRTY! Everything close by gets splattered with buffing compound, rag dust and aluminum residue.
Good point. I will find something to put up behind it when in use.

Another note from someone who is constantly working on janky bench grinder/ buffing wheel attachments, I would do some measuring and see if your local hardware would have some spacers to put your buffing wheel closer to the end of the shaft. Even a bit more clearance between the motor and the pad is really helpful getting into that "one spot". Not to mention getting rid of some of the threads sticking out of the other side that will inevitably but a knick in a freshly polished section when getting in "that one other spot" on the other side. Ask me how I know lol
