Dude, every time I see your bike I get ticked off

Ticked because I had the opportunity to get one that was in running order (not perfect, but, totally workable) for $500 and I let someone talk me out of it.

I so regret that. I should have gotten it. I see bikes like yours and think of what could have been.

Damn. :(

'72 Norton Commando 750 Combat Cafe Racer. been sitting since 1989 was a show bike w/ hand made rearsets, and fairing. Gus Kuhn tank and seat, completely worked motor. tear down has begun!

@Steve F: Orange really works on the CX! I hope you are planning the same color on that fairing....

@vuuduu21: Any upgrades planned for the Norton during rebuild?

Agreed on that CX, it's gonna be SICK!

I tore the Norton down to the frame / motor already, it's mechanically really solid. the motor already has been cam'ed, 10:1 pistons, larger Amal carbs, ported and polished heads, electronic ignition, and a few other upgrades for reliabliity. (the stock Combat motors were know to gernade pretty regulalry)

I washed all the grime off it and now am begining polishing the aluminum and replacing chrome bits. the biggest investment is the chrome rims / SS spokes i ordered. I also took the body parts to my painter, going all black w/ gold lettering and a clear windscreen. I'm trying to build upon what the original builder did 26 years ago when he first did it up. there are so many hand made parts on here that are really well done. I've never seen a norton quite like this one anywhere else.

Yep, fairing is staying orange, maybe with some silver to match the tank and tail stripes.

Yep, must have been pretty gentle, I can't get close to that out of a rear tyre.
When I was younger (19~35) I thought 1,800 miles was good for a rear tyre ;D
Sidecar was even worse, 600~800 miles on a FRONT tyre  8)

Haha... I guess the 450 just doesn't put out *that* much power 'ey? Either that or my right wrist is too gentle... haha

See how it goes this time!

DAMN bradj.. a Roller and a Planishing Hammer? You got some serious stuff lately!
