Post a pic of your latest purchase

Bought a running titled 1978 xs750 yesterday for $600! Came with a full parts bike with a nice set of black bodywork and stock seat. Right now it is a starship trooper with full Vetter kit and awful/amazing king queen seat on the stock seat pan. Radio even works! I’m almost tempted to leave it as is...

2004 BMW R1150R Rockster. 7300 miles. Bought it from the second owner who put 5700 miles on it I'm a happy man. 'Nuff said.

Wow. Cory knock the ugly off that and ride the crap out of it. Alex that xs is a score too. Nice gets both!

I hear ya, but it's much better in person than in the pix and ask Levi, he'll tell ya, once you ride it the thing quickly becomes very beautiful. After studying up on exactly what the Rockster special edition is I was struck that it's in many ways a factory version of a DTT project bike. It's a R1150R frame and engine with S wheels, forks, and front fender, GS headlight, and special paint job. I like it; fuel injection, ABS brakes, heated grips, new tires, gel battery, and did I mention that it's only got 7300 miles? :D

I imagine. Great score. I just hate the headlights or mostly the little hat on top that looks like a robot head. Small changes to it could make all the difference. Even just maybe black that but out?

Funny you should mention that, as always when I'm contemplating a purchase I do lots and lots of research. On one owner's forum I came across a guy who made himself a very good looking flyscreen by attaching a carefully cut full-face helmet shield (clear) with industrial tape to the top edge of that "robot head." I just happen to have an extra tinted shield from a helmet that I no longer use that's going to do the job. I've already held in place and because it's tinted is going to look great. Once I decide what shape I want to trim it to that'll be the first improvement. Much of today was spent cleaning and cleaning and cleaning. It ain't done but it's better than it was.

Can't black it out, though... Yeah it's rubber mounted and pops off easily, but in my mind because of what the thing is the basic stuff is gunna have to stay stock or at least easy to put back to stock.

Dad "gave" me this awhile back with the Nortons but I haven't had a place to put it. I got two grubby pics from the back of his shop this weekend. 1960 BSA Catalina Scrambler. The tank is in great shape inside but there's a oops on one side of the tank from years ago.

I was given this 2003 Suzuki GSX-R600 yesterday by a friend’s co-worker. He needed it out of the garage to appease his wife ASAP.

It’s not ran in 6 years... it’s in great shape. I’ve got the tank soaking in Pine-Sol right now to cut the varnish a bit. The 6 year old fuel was just rancid and starting to attack the tank. I think I caught it before it really got out of hand. I’m betting that when I finish cleaning the tank and slap a new battery and fresh gas (w/ a bit of sea foam) in it that it fires up. Fingers crossed. I love a good free bike. Dude might as well have handed me a check.
