Nice! The early bikes are getting hard to find, especially in that condition. Congratulations!

That's what I chopped up to make my XS cafe!
 
Thanks Fellas. I'm obviously all for cutting up bikes into cool cafe racers, but this one will stay mostly stock or at least a no cut retro-mod something or other. This one really speaks to me. Picture this, but not restored, just cleaned up. Id hold onto all the stock wheels and forks etc in case I ever wanna make a bunch of money on it by selling it too a purist boomer ;)

Traded the 82 900F for its 23 year newer sibling. Sad to see the 900 go but needed something better to commute with and can’t justify having the 900 as a project alongside my Toyota rust bucket that’s taking up my garage.

If you ship a bottom end, make sure you drain all the oil, or the box looks like this when it gets where it's going. It was just an xr100 bottom end so it must have had most of its quart of oil still in it.

I'm surprised that got delivered. If we see a leak like that we need to pull the freight and put it on a drip pan and call the shipper to have it remedied.
 
It was double boxed, the paper and inner box are soaked, but it didn't quite make it through the outer box. I know most shippers get upset if boxes start leaking when they aren't supposed to have liquid.
 
Yep, good for you as that may have been sent back otherwise. It's not the shipping company, it's the enviro inspectors that can just show up and fine us for it LOL.
 
Oh, I understand. The shipping company has to watch for it because those fines are high. They ask when you drop it off, so it's all on the person who packed it being lazy.
