Post a pic of your latest purchase

Lol, it wasn't bad on price. $220 with free shipping on ebay. Same one on amazon is over $300. I'll get it set up and report on how well it works.

Today brought new shoes. Shinko 520s, the old tires were old, 2010 date code.

That was a '40's Vincent... Not an Indian.
No, the movie "The fastest Indian" IS about an Indian. In 1968 Bert Munro went 183.95 mph on a 1920 Indian Scout. Bert may have set other records , but this is the one I was referencing.

Its good to check craig's everyday at break... Complete set of dual Webers for CB750 for $100.

World's Fastest Indian was indeed an Indian and Rollie Free in his ATGATT (not) was on a Vincent. Two stories - two different bikes. Both were amazing though.

YES, I'm familiar with the movie. However, if THAT is what you were referencing, then you probably shouldn't said/typed THIS...
I love that movie. Anyone who goes 150mph prone on a 20's indian on salt in a bathing suit has true grit.
Because that was NOT Burt Munro, NOT an Indian, and NOT the focus of the movie.

Perhaps in the future you could gather your thoughts into a clear and comprehensive post before hitting "Post Reply", in order to avoid others trying to guess what you're referencing.

I listed my DR350s on Marketplace for $1900 or trade for performance SBC 350. I’m looking for an engine for my truck. A guy messaged me to offer this 1980 Camaro Z28. It has a built 010 block engine, posi rear end, TH350 tranny. A great running car, but it was taken into a ditch and hooked a tree in 2017. He offered to pull the engine or give me the whole car. I said “heck with it” and took the whole car figuring I could part it out. Now I’m stuck with the decision to actually part it or fix it and I’m struggling to decide. The subframe actually took no damage, so this car is completely fixable. He gave me two front fenders and there’s a complete front end on Maketplace in Macon, GA for $350.

Drive it as-is. Looks as good or better than many cars I see driving around SC.

Those F bodies are tough old cars. The front end looks like it's just a time consuming re&re, the back end appears to have some creases that may be more complicated.
It looks like a money maker, too me, for a guy with your skills.

I knew a couple guys, back in the early '80's, who would take your truck, grab a rental for the weekend and do a complete engine/tranny swap. They charged $500 and then would take the rental back, with the old drive train and drop it off.

Yes they were. I believe the F bodies (Camaro/Firebird), the S-10/Sonoma trucks, and the Astro/Safari vans shared lots and lots of components. Most of those vehicles succumbed to body cancer (rust) before their running gear gave out. Nice parts like the IROC Camaro steering box and other stuff were supposedly direct swaps.

Nothing special a timken style neck bearing kit for a Sportster frame.
