Post a pic of your latest purchase

Just couldn't pass it up for 20 bucks. Maybe just wall art. 1976 Bonnie frame.

76 is getting close to the end of the run. I've seen some great trackers/scramblers built with OIF frames.

The camshafts in the XS1 are lumpier than the later ones. The camchain sprockets are different, so you have to press a later year sprocket onto the earlier camshaft and index it.

But that's the camshaft I have in my built-up XS motor waiting to be fired up one of these days.

Yeah, I've got an xs1 cam in my rephased 700cc EFI bike. Didn't want to go aftermarket, but wanted a little more than later cams.

Just picked up this 1983 Honda nighthawk 650.. The bike has not been on the road since 1993 and is in great condition.. starts up just fine but carbs are flooding and will need to be cleaned and rebuilt..I bought this bike for a great price $400..from an old guy that got it in a barter trade and only road it around the block.. Now it’s going to be a project bike for my 16 yr old daughter and I.. she excited as can be to get started..

Nice, I just picked this up today for $600, and it runs good! the carbs are a little gummy and leak some gas and so a carb rebuild/ clean will help a lot. Overall the bikes been garaged a lot, but needs a good detail. Only 12k miles, needs a new gauge panel because glass is gone. I left it at the guys house and I am planning on riding it home 20 minutes tomorrow when the sun is out!

Picked up a no-mar tire changing stand with hitch mount, bar, bead holder, balancing stand, the full kit. It's used but I paid less than half the normal price.

Purchased this 83' 650sc 2 days ago. I spent 5 hours and detailed it just to get it clean even though mechaincs should be done first. The carbs need to come off and be rebuilt but I want to ride it a little and make sure it drives good. I havent even hardly ridden it. I dumped the gas out the tank (not sure how old the gas was) then added a fuel filter and drained the carb bowls. Just hoping that will help the sticky float. I might just remove the bowls and clean them on bike, or just fix the one float that is leaking mostly. Well see tomorrow if its still leaking. It's got a new battery but its a little big and the bracket doesn't close. It's a nice Interstate 200cca agm so I think I will make a little metal bracket to use it. The tires look new and the rubber is still soft, not sure of date code. It needs a few things like the cluster, headlight bucket, and some better turn signals. Also needs a throttle tube that moves freely, and subsequent grips. Paid $600 how'd I do?

If it runs and has a title you did good at $600.
I was just going to kinda fix one sticky float but ended up rebuilding/ cleaning all 4 carbs! I took the carbs apart on the bike because they were a pain in the butter to get out of the rubber boots. So I just left them on the bike. It's running good after taking a 3 minute ride to a gas station it broke down on me! It took a while to figure out that my fuel filter was dry. I blew with my mouth into the fuel line and there must of been a air bubble from hell because that fixed it. Gas started flowing. Overall I like the bike, it has only 12k miles and I'm not even sure I can wear this bike out in my lifetime.

A hint for the rubber "insulators" - heat gun until bath water warm. Then heat again to reinstall (plus a shine of silicone grease).

yes that does help, I used the heat gun for the air cleaner side of rubber boots. The engine side I used heat also but couldnt get them off without resorting to a big prybar probably. So I decided to just leave them on the bike. Im glad I did because I might of ended up breaking something. Instead of silicone I used some WD40 on hand. I actually use that stuff everywhere, sometimes spraying whole bikes with it to "hydrate" them. Also it works good to clean and darken black engine cases, frames, and wheels.

I picked up an xr200 basket case for $350. It had been "rebuilt" but smoked. The guy that I bought it from thought it would be a cheap fix but was over their head. It was on marketplace for 1k, then dropped to 800, then 600, then I offered 300, and after a little back and forth 350 was agreed on. I got it home and measured the cylinder and found it had .010 piston to wall clearance so it'll need to go 1st oversize. Haven't pulled valves to check them yet, but cam journals are good. My goal is to have it back on the trails with less than 500 additional invested.

Got a wiseco 10:1 66mm piston coming $100, bore will cost $75, tires hopefully under $200, valves might add $50, and smaller parts will probably take up the rest.

LowBrow solo seat mounting stuff with 2" springs and a Colony oil tank cap. I've been throwing parts and an old Ironhead Sportster frame.

Picked up this 91 nighthawk 750 for $360 yesterday. It's supposed to run but needs a carb rebuild. Missing a side cover and has been laid over on one side lightly. These things are said to run about 12.7 quarter mile!
