Post a pic of your latest purchase

Since the new truck purchase is the last entry into this I'll add another new purchase... for the truck.

GM seemed to have some issues w/ clear coat on wheels during that time and mine were good examples of that. I looked into replacements or other ways to correct and I had about decided to refinish thembut I wasn't thrilled at the prospect of blocking up three tons of truck in the driveway, having the tires dismounted, wire brushing off the clear coat, paint or powder coat the wheels, re-mount the tires, and on and on. Yeah, coulda' done 'em one at a time. Anyway, did lots of searching and found a guy on Marketplace w/ four brand new take-offs just like mine available over in FL.We don't do FB so I contacted my friend in PA to see if he'd give a yell to the guy. My friend was at his kid's in VA so the guy from PA was in VA and contacted the guy in FL for his friend from OH who's currently in MS. (Ain't modern technology wonderful?) Anyway, the things are brand new:

Now they are all safely packed up:

And stashed away in the back of the Tundra for the trip back to OH:

Onward and upward!

I had a deposit down for a few months and two days before Christmas I got the call. 2023 Yamaha Tenere 700. I love this bike. I have the OEM hardbag setup to install and a list of other farkles are on the way.

Nothing spanky new, fancy or high dollar...
1994 Chevy Cheyenne.

Previous owner was my older son. At the time he purchased it, I told him when he was done with it, I'd pay him exactly what he paid for it. Well, roughly 6 years later and $1200, I own a vehicle that requires two keys again.

I love it Chris! It looks great and well priced for what obs chevys are commanding currently

This post goes the opposite way for me. I bought my 2011 Silverado back in 2020 and used it quite a bit (bought with 83k miles now has 109k) but it just sat way too much and didn't get driven recently. Good news is I bought it for $14k and sold it for $14.5k. Rarely have I had a vehicle pay me to drive it for 3 years.

I was sad to see it go, but I replaced it with an infamous "Dieselgate" 2012 Jetta TDI SportWagen. It was well cared for even if a bit higher in miles than I wanted to get into one at 132k. Has all the stuff a wanted, EGR delete, Malone tuned and big turbo, and the best of all, 3 pedals and a stick. On the trip back from Ft. Wayne Indiana I managed about 52 mpg, and when you aren't concerned about buying groceries, it'll put you back in the seats when you give it the beans. It has a 2000lb towing capacity to boot which will make easy work of a pair of old bikes on a small trailer, which is 98% of what I used my truck for as a truck anyways.

The only thing is I have NEVER sought out a red vehicle... and this is my 7th... so I guess its my curse lol

Nice, I never intend to buy red but have had 5 so far LOL. Every time it was the best deal I could find when I needed a new to me vehicle.

2001 SV 650 with a bunch of cool race parts. Going to cut my teeth on the track with this.

Levi, not a bad exchange... considering the use you'll get out of it.
And I can relate to the Red Vehicle Curse. I have never actively sought out a red vehicle but have ended up with 9. Silver comes in second with 6.

And to stay on topic... recently picked up a bike stand...

Bro' had been raving about the Baxley he recently purchased. Picked this one up from Amazon for about half the price.
I had experience with the Baxley's when I ran trackdays with the 'Busa. This things works the same... push/ride it in, step off, and walk away.

Cool. I'll look those up. Would be nice for winter storage as the bike is upright not leaned over.

I purchased some pinstriping for my helmet. I wasn’t thrilled about having a plain helmet but it was a pretty good deal when I bought it a couple years ago. I saw a similar design from an IG account in Japan. I found a local pinstripe artist and had him go at it. I’m very happy with his work.

After decades of gingerly trying to avoid chewing up extra-large nuts with my old serrated-jaw channel-lock pliers, I finally got myself a nice pair with smooth jaw faces.

Power flickered at my shop. Fried 24V power supply on a milling center. It's what powers the operators panel.

$300 part, changed it out myself.

$1,480 for the tech to spend 7 minutes looking before telling me what the problem was.

I bought some white paint, but didn't take a picture of it in the can.

Here's how it looks now that it got out.

In other news, the wheels for my track bike are both the same color now.

Sooooo... after hole-ing yet ANOTHER tube, trying to mount my own rear tire (I used to be able to do this stuff, I swear!), a friend at work offered me an opportunity to help him clear his garage of this little Beauty. I paid barely more for this than the SR250. Some tank siphoning, carb bowl flushing and a new battery later, it made it's first maiden trip around the block. I'm not giving up on the SR250, but now I'll get to RIDE, too! It's gonna need tires...these barely hold air.

Reproduction Honda CB750K (71-76) side covers from Franken (www.fb-stuff.com). I ordered these with the smooth sides (no emblems). He also makes a finned version.
