Post a pic of your motorcycle as it sits

I made my Cafe racer out of a CB400F1 I got from a breakers yard in Wales.
very nice bike

@Sderbyshire I really like those, I've never seen them like that before on a 550.

@CarbsAndCylinders The tank is off a Kawasaki Z550LTD and needed minimal tunnel modification to get it to fit but I did have to reduce the turning circle of the bike a bit by adding bigger bottom yoke stops because it is wider at the front than the slab tank off the 400 four, the flat bars are for comfort but if I had clip ons or ace bars I think I would have to reduce the turn even more. I made the cafe racer to free myself up after the nut and bolt as from the factory restoration I did to my 1979 RD250 which I found very restrictive, I've had that one since I was 17 when I passed my bike test on it.

Here's my extremely low budget, frame off, basket case rebuild. She runs.... like crap. This is where my lack of carbonation experience is hurting me. Looking for some lessons to learn on how to jet this thing to run most of the time.

Added an 8 gallon safari tank to the tiger. After a 90 mile trip with a 20mph headwind went through 3/5 of the stock tank I felt an upgrade was needed.

thats a sweet machine right there. How do you like the bead seat?

I like it. The stock seat was terrible, 30min and it was getting uncomfortable. I switched to a triumph low comfort seat and it was much better, added the beadrider and it's plenty comfy for the trips I tend to make. It's nice because you do get some airflow, if it's raining it doesn't pool around your backside, and if you get a hotspot a tiny shift gets rid of it.

That's interesting, I always wondered about those bead seats.

They make a difference. My backside is drier after a long ride than without it. It does feel odd at first, but a couple rides in you get used to it. Mine is the ceramic bead version, should last longer than wood beads and it was a black friday sale.

The wife's RD125. It's getting there. I need to machine the crank tools and then start the motor rebuild.

Actually tore down again lol...needed to weld the kickstand back on but had to assemble a bit to get the angle good...now I need to figure out if I want a black frame or not....

This is how it sat on Friday anyway. Imagine that in a dark garage and you've got it today.

Ohlins ront and rear with forged wheels! I bet that is a fun bike. I had a Aprilia Falco and the Ohlins shock made it into the best handling bike I have ridden.

About to be tucked away until Spring.
