Within the last month I bought these 2 nighthawks. A 84 and a 92. I am completely new to these but they seem like good reliable riders. I will probably keep both, but I like the newer one more. It has more power, chain vs drive shaft, and more classic looks with the headlight and gauges.

The weather this morning was nice enough to roll The Bride (as in, "the Bride of Frankenstein") outside to record my progress over the winter.

I'm building this to use up all the random spare parts I had collecting dust on my garage shelves. Some of the stuff I've had for over 15 years. The frame is a '74 Panther DB175, built by Taiwanese company Shin San Tong (SST). The engine is an electric-start LCT StormForce 208 (6.5HP Honda GX clone) originally intended for a Husqvarna snowblower: $99 brand new off Ebay. At the front is a 16" VTR250 inboard disc wheel mounted in reversed GS650L cruiser forks, with a Maxim 700 fender. Rear wheel is from an EX500, mounted in a '76 YZ125C swingarm with shocks from the front of a Chinese 110 kids four-wheeler. Tank a '77 Can-Am Qualifier. Footpegs are off a Honda ATC90. With the CVT transmission, there won't be any foot controls; I am hooking the rear brakescooter-style, with the rear master cylinder on the left-hand side of the handlebar. The hard stuff is done, but there's still all those little details you need to work through. It probably won't be finished any time soon, but I make a little progress on it here and there, when I can.

She's been sitting like this for way too long.
Seeing as she turned 50 this year, it's time to wake her up again.

Mike, when did you get a Hawk GT? I hear they're bullet proof and make great track bikes.

Couple weeks ago. $1600 from a fellow MSF instructor. It got parked in 2020 for tank rot, he then bought 2 more bikes and decided to offer it to just fellow instructors. We're doing the CBR F2 tank mod and the rest is pretty good.

Nice!

I chip away at it between other projects and maintenance.

Got them all out in the sun for a family photo.
I realized I currently own one of each of "The Big Four" Japanese Manufacturers. Figured I'd commemorate the occasion... because it won't last long :p

These are the 4 in running condition.

3 more under the tarp, waiting for some love.
