Products for bare metal, found it once before

I can't for the life of me find a product spicifly to keep bare metal from rusting. I found it once before but now I can't. You can even use it over paint that has bare metal showing through it. If anyone knows I'd greatly appreciate it

I have seen a spray on liquid that is for treating rust before you paint, it would turn rust into a white film like zink does. I got it from an auto restoration place, Eastwood I think. Probably not what you are thinking of, but I am interested when you do remember.
