well.. added another last night! my brother needed something he could go long distances on, the chop was not exactly AWESOME for riding his girl around... so he bought another bike! got himself a 82 GL1100 goldwing
LOTS of plans for this sucker! main focal point will be sounds! going to dry and dump about 700 watts of speaker in this sucker! i have a head gasket to replace, fron brake to rebuild, fork oil to stiffen up.. but it runs reallllly well!
here is what we got so far... pics to come as we go of course

here is a pic of the new scoot

Right on. I will have a 79 GL1000 in my yard this weekend to play with, my father in law bought it and we will be picking it up soon. I can't wait to see what you guys do to this. It will be awsome I am sure. Are you going to ditch the big fairing? It isn't too bad on that bike, but they didn't come from the factory on the 75-79 Gl's and the one we have has a vetter and it looks out of place. I want the old man to loose it and put a removable touring shield on instead. That being said, you may need it for all the speakers! I think you may want to upgrade the alternator, I have read when you start adding accessories to these older wings you can kill the electrical systems ability to charge the battery. Good luck, I will be watching this thread.

altinator is def in the plan! the fairing it staying for sure! we are going to do some serious touring on this sucker!

i feel ya on that but he will have a passanger on there 99% of the time... his other is that chop we built him last year... so she wants to ride with him... we are going to convert the top case into an amp rack and put a 500 watt and 175 watt amp on there.. as well as glass in 2 6x9 enclosures for the passanger... then of course... lots of powder... he loves the satin red! never thought i would see the day he liked a satin color but he does... so we will clean that up a bit as well...
1st things we have to do:
rebuild front calipers
heavy weight fork oil
fix float adjustment and sync carbs

then he will ride it as we work on it... here is a pic of his other bike to give you an idea of why she was not a big fan of riding on back and why he could not do any more than 4 hrs strait on it... the ride was not bad it is more the HOLDING on... that 110 rev tech is so tuned in that the bike just RIPS and pulls so so hard... it hurts your hands after about an hour strait from just holding on!

I'm looking forward to this... a Goldwing is my next project. I'm going to do it in cafe/touring trim. I like the old wings naked, but I do understand the need for a fairing.
Keep it coming dude!

well put 85 miles on her last night... ran about 1/2 can of sea foam though it... after i synced the carbs and fixed the float... WOW what a diff in performance! this sucker will lift the front tire!

That thing is bitchin'! I cant wait to see what happens next. Are you going to change the paint? What color?

not sure, i love the flat red! by my brother wants me to shoot it in a a granny apple green with a ULTRA high fat dimond flake to it... i told him he should either leave it or shoot it in Governement green with a HUGE white STAR on the bags!
who knows, for not, our focus is getting this Civic altinarot on there to powder all the stereo equiptment!

hows about some pictures! granted they are not the best, i only had my cell... but here ya go
stripped down to just a roller again, we are tearing it down further and doing the wheels in the green and going for a higher gloss on the lower legs... the rotor will also be hit... frame and motor are just going to be repainted...

One of these is definitely in the future for me as a Dime City build!

oooh trust me! i tried to get him to go that way... his girl misses riding with him, the chop is just too intense for her on the back, even letting pressure out of the rear tire... so we are building a moving couch :)
i LOVE that bike i have it saved on my PC in the shop!

how about an update!!!!

been making great headway on the project... first round of 6 for powder is done
