Question about which muffler to get.

Calm down and sail on
I wasn't sure where to put this, so I figured I needed help and this section is for HELP haha..

I am interested in getting a new muffler for my 350f. I like two from DCC, here are the links:

I like the shorty more so than the reverse cone, but I'm cool to get either. What I'm asking is, if anyone has used either one of these on their 350f or similar Four bike could you let me know what you think as far as sound, tuning, performance, looks(I like others opinions too ;) )

This is what I'm looking at on my bike currently..

Also, if anyone has a picture of their 350F with either muffler could you post it so I can get a sweet visual!

Thanks amigos!
Ronnie

Also, I took the stock megaphone muffler off. And Yes, I will probably be selling it along with a slew of other items!

Annnd, I plan on wrapping the exhaust with black wrap... ;D

please dont put exhaust wrap....
thats so over done.

First you need to add back the tailpipe. Without the exhaust doesn't work very well and on the end of that tailpipe mount a decent muffler. If you have one from that pipe, I'd put it back on.

Shorties tend to make a lot of noise and don't help power as a rule.

That looks like a drag pipe? (it drags on the floor ;D )
either 4:4 or 4:2 looks a lot better on 350f.
I would go for 4:4 with long reverse cone(like Honda racebikes)

That exhaust has a very large diameter collector and no normal exhaust is going to fit on that fat boy. Either replace the whole thing as PJ suggested or put the original back on and save some cash.

Guys I have the original megaphone muffler, I just happened to take it off before I took that particular photo.. I'm offshore right now and was going to order something so it will be waiting when I get home.. The original megaphone went right over that and had a clamp that tightened it up.

Bryan, do you know where i can find a Dunstall and what model you are talking about?

Crazy, I would like to get a 4-2, but I'm not looking to shell that out right now. I saw someone selling one on here but I think it already sold.. But I don't care too much for the 4-4's just too much metal hanging around.

Reelin, do you know where and what model Kerker you are talking about is?

You can get the Dunstall pipe from Dime City too. But I would make sure whatever you order fits, you might take some measurements first.

The point I was trying to make earlier is that that none of the mufflers available for old bikes are nearly large enough to fit that collector plus it needs a secondary pipe arrangement to work. See what DCC etc have and I suspect they will be half the size you need.

What you could do is to get a step down pipe to take the collector down to a reasonable tail pipe size and fit a regular muffler on there or see what different collectors are available to weld in place of that one. Either way round it will involve a lot more work.

I got ya.. I didn't measure it.. I just assumed it was a 1 3/4" which looking at the pictures now it does look pretty large. Yea, I will look into it. I'm offshore so I can't go and measure it which sucks. I need to just take measurements everywhere on the bike and write it down so I don't have this problem when I'm offshore haha...sigh. Thanks for the help teazer, 'ppreciate it!

Oil.. I'm a 3rd mate on a supply vessel working in the Gulf of Mexico. Trying to keep all you gas tweakers supplied with petrol for years to come! Haha

Saw this 350f downtown the other day, heard him first. Sounded good!

Haha, no problem Pro! Were just now getting to a rig that just finished up drilling on a well. So now a production platform can start sucking it out! Cha-ching!

Boy, what exhaust is that? Straight pipe or is that one of those shorty mufflers? ...if you could tell that is.

sorry to thread jack here but what downtown boykin? i thought i saw this dt charleston the other day so just seeing if you're from around here or if they are similar bikes.
