this looks bloody lovely.really like the cx,s used to have three at one time but nothing like this one .will have to think about another one now.

Did just that today, luckily one of Sydneys most popular bike roads is a few minutes from my door so I took it for a run. Great to be riding what I envisaged over a year ago :) Always good to see peoples reactions to what is normally the oldest bike at either of the cafes on the run, with the new paint it had them even more confused from a distance.

I think CX500's are really hard bikes to turn into a nice cafe racer. You did an excellent job!! Really like that bike.
 
Put the CX badges on, these were on the side covers but I liked the look of them so decided to put them on the tank.

I've always thought those badges looked too big on the sidecovers, but they fit perfectly on that tank. Just gets better ;)

Ran the stripes on the tail this evening. With the curve in both directions there was no way I was going to be able to run the full width stripe like on the tank as it would have to be stretched all over the place to work without it puckering, so as a compromise that I think worked well I tapered the stripes off. Came up pretty good but hard to take a pic that shows that it's straight, anyway, I'll get some better ones tomorrow.

Looks like the site hosting my pics is down, hopefully it'll be back soon. Anyway, a couple I took of the finished stripes this morning. It's really hard to get a pic of the tail with the stripes looking straight and symetrical due to all the curves so you'll just have to trust me when I say it is :D
