Re: Bigsam302's 76 CB750F w/GSXR Forks: Project Helen – She Lives!!!

She's a looker. But do yourself and your motor a huge favor and put some kind of shield between the rear tire and your stacks or road dust will kill your beautiful motor. The screens in stacks don't filter fine stuff like paper or foam filters. Not to mention if you hit a puddle.

Thanks Maritime,

I'm going to ride it around for a little while and see how dirty the engine gets. I'm not worried about the puddles, it barely rains here in SOCAL. One reason why my license plate is located where it is and at that angle is to basically serve as a shield from the rear tire. If it doesn't help, I have a backup plan already.

Congrats! That first startup is always fun. Sounds really great. Can't wait to hear it all tuned up!

Thanks treitz. I'm hoping that tuning will not be a huge pain.

I've been lurking for awhile on DTT, looking at things here and there quickly. I saw you were up for BOTM and lost by one vote, even though I'm into small hondas when I saw the picture of your bike, I hit it and was interested. I just went over the entire thread and I've got to say; WOW. Congrats man. I really admire your patience, and determination. Glad you and your bike made it. Bike looks great. Absolutely fantastic job! Congrats again.

Thanks guys! I really appreciate it. The bike turned out better than I would have thought and the pictures don't do it justice at all. I'm still going through the shakedown period and trying to get the bike sorted out. So far it is a blast and worth everything I put into it!
