Not sure if I'm reading your post wrong, but if you think your engine is stock, I doubt it. The external oil line to the valve train is a giveaway (can be done on a stock motor, but usually done on a tuned engine).

And it's an import SR right? I thought the drum brake front only came on the SR400??

And for what it's worth, get some tyres with grip. Those things you have on there now are.......impractical ::)

Nice build though ;)

Im not 100% sure on the engine. like i said it was an import works great and hasn't been opened up. I put the oil line to ensure everything's lubed up nicely as i had some feedback from other SR owners telling me this is one thing they could of done better from factory. Yamaha released later model SR500's with a front drum brake. They're not common.

And im going for the impractical angle. Fenders that do nothing to stop mud kicking up in my face and on my back, a 4lt fuel tank that gets me servo to servo, Tyres that dont disperse enough water meaning i only ride when its dry, And an exhaust note that makes it unbearable to.... people on the footpath as i ride past.. haha

Thanks mate! :p

haha for some reason the thumpers aren't that loud, I drove my SR500 around with just the head pipe on it and was surprised on how quiet it was. My honda cl350 is at least 5 times louder. but the thumpers sound great around 55mph

Re: My Volatile SR500 Forks now black + Take off video

Would love to see some details on the tank mounting, as well as jetting specs on the FCR39 :)

Re: My Volatile SR500 Forks now black + Take off video

Take mounting = easy... One bolt and one big cable tie =) when i get a chance i will ask the mechanics that attached the carby about the jetting.

Re: My Volatile SR500 Forks now black + Take off video

Just saw this now. What a cool looking bike! Congrats on building such a unique bike. Absolutely love it! And that big single going do through the gears, poppin' and crackin? Pure music to the ears.

you can eliminate the battery either by using a battery eliminator from Daytona but your lights won't work when your engine is off

if you want your electrics to be working when your engine isn't on, then you can use a sealed battery (model YT4B-BS).
