Re: My 1974 CB360 project

yeah, I am kinda lagging waiting for parts. :( ;D
I got the mufflers today and some relays.

Re: My 1974 CB360 project

And I spy with my little eyes some spott the dog auctions on ebays. ;) Good luck bud.

I know the feeling I been waiting on a new set of coils and wires for 3 weeks now and they were sitting on my desk when I got home this afternoon. That means for the first time in over 2 months I can fire the bitch up this weekend if I so feel. ;D There's a lot of work to go before that but I can get there prolly Sunday. 8)

What muff's did you get?

Re: My 1974 CB360 project

17" reverse cone megaphones x2.
I just started listing parts I don't want and it got up to 35 listings! Hopefully get a few bucks back towards new parts.

Re: My 1974 CB360 project

nice. The reverse cones are the way to go i like the old school reverse cone commandos they look sweet. When the budget allows for it that is.

Re: My 1974 CB360 project

The guy measuring my cylinders and rings and pistons says I need new pistons and rings. The bore is fine just a hone/de-glaze.

Re: My 1974 CB360 project

What do you use to seal the valve cover on assembly? Form-a-Gasket?
Does anybody know how much 2" header wrap I need for the 360?

Re: My 1974 CB360 project

I would just buy more than you need. Also if you're buying it from a site, they will give you approximations on how much to use.

Re: My 1974 CB360 project

Has anyone tapped the lower triple for a steering stabilizer? If so where did you clamp the other end?

I got my headlight ears today, the smallest I could find was 35mm (great Ebay seller from Toronto). What I did was cut a section of bicycle inner tube to use as a shim/rubber mount. They go on nice and tight, I will just trim the excess once I have the position dialed. The tubes worked well because they are tubular and I could stretch them on tight.

I took a picture although my progress has slowed, waiting for rearsets, gaskets, seat, lights, pistons, rings, caliper etc.
I got a nice set of polished stainless steel bolts today from http://www.alloyboltz.com/catalog/index.php
It's very nice and all cataloged/organized, super impressed.

Re: My 1974 CB360 project

Here is my seat from HondaClassic31.com
It took 3.5 weeks to come from Vietnam, build quality is very nice. I got the complete seat with reproduction seat pan. It's not attached yet, just sitting there.

I wrapped the header pipe with DEi black fiberglass header wrap. Looks pretty nice but I still need to put the top coat on once it's dry.

Re: My 1974 CB360 project

Looks nice, how much did one side take? I'm thinking about doing the same for mine since they are pretty chewed up.

Re: My 1974 CB360 project

A few boxes just landed :D
Tail light, shorter braided brake lines, LED indicators, brake pads and a set of rocker shafts
