TJ - Beachcomber
DTT SUPPORTER
As the title. Thought I'd start a thread where UK DTT 'ers can find services, products, suppliers, etc. that they have used and can be recommended. Maybe even suppliers willing to give a DTT discount ?

THE USUAL CAVEATS LIKE - "AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION" apply.

Maybe that could be stickied Tim ???

Re: Recommended - UK

Turning a 250 Superdream into a Brat for my son. My shopping list includes Tyres, Speedo, Tacho, Headlamp, Indicators, Rear lamp and Fork gaiters. I am hopping to source in the uk and reasonably cheaply if possible. I have set myself a target of being roadworthy before TDGM on 29th Sept or we will be going on his H100.

Shame this thread didn't take off. I could do with a few recommendations.

Yes, great pity as there are many of us without the neccessary skills, and I'm sure even those WITH the skills still have to farm certain work out.

Don't be shy all you builders, one man bands [ no disrespect intended ], innovators ................ such a directory could be useful to all, even if it's just a heads up where to get a good deal on stuff.

Re: Recommended - UK

I'll chip in..

Powder coating.. always use Triple S in Bingley W.Yorkshire. Never use anyone else.

Classic parts.. www.Feked.com

for Triton stuff Unity Equipe.

Also I've used Disco Volante, has some v nice stuff, bit pricy..

Re: Recommended - UK

FWIW I use Griff's Reality Motoworks in Bristol for powder coating and wheel building.

Steve at Red Max has always been helpful with Streetracker parts I assume he's the same with the Cafe parts he sells.

I tend to get stainless fasteners from Steve's Stainless at every autojumble I've been to.

Lightening Spares have been good for BSA parts and Supreme for Triumph bits.

I use ebay a lot if you know what you want it's a great resource that seems to have taken over from the local bike shop (more's the pity).

Here's the first of some ace Midlands folk .................

you know when you need that little bit of special metal - brass, stainless, alloy, whatever to finish off the wurzlegrommetvalve ? VERY knowledgeable if you are not certain what grade of metal you want [ ie wheel spindles ].

You've probably seen this husband and wife team at various shows - but you can collect direct [ Brum - ring first ] and they do mail order. NO minimum order size - although the more the merrier - ie cheaper.

Re: Recommended - UK

Seat upholstery has been mentioned a few times. My long time [ 30 years + ] trimmer has retired through ill health, but his top machinist is currently looking at premises to carry on the good work.

She anticipates being up and running later this month and as soon as I have her contact details, I'll post them up.

They've done 100s of car sets for me, and maybe a dozen bike seats - all with ace results.

Did you get the contact details? Need to get a quote on mine.

If not, anyone know of someone else who could do it?

Cheers,

Tom.

TJ received with thanks
cracking bit of perforated hide that i can defo find a use for ,but as for the cafe seat its Alcántara that i need that suade stuff

chromers
howells of walsall top class most of the discovery programs use them BUT long waiting time and since there fame very expensive

i use a small company in wolves ,if can get your bits to me i can sort it for you cheap as chips, loves a pound note job and 2-3 day turn around
he likes bare metal stuff tho, rather than re-chrome

I've got my trimmer looking out for a source of reasonably priced Alcantara.

How does your tame chromer feel about painted parts ? I am seriously thinking of getting the 7" Lucas shell done, but it's painted Black [ not very well ! ]

Unfortunately most of the other parts I need doing have previously been chromed.
