registration issues

cb 550 guy

have a good day dude
hey dudes and dudettes
A friend of mine gave me a cb 750 1982 sometime ago. He signed it back and gave me the reciept and i got the UVIP. but i lost the ownership of it, i havent tranfered it into my name. The bad part is that he is very ill and i dont want to bother him or is family regarding the bike. how can i register the bike without the ownership. i even tried selling it but no one will buy it without the registration.
your help would be greatly appereciated.

Not sure about bikes but I just registered my truck with a bill of sale.
The seller moved out of the province and I told the DMV that he gave me the wrong registration (which he did) and they let me sign it over into my name anyway.
Call the DMV and see what they can do for you... although I find they're very helpful on the phone, not so much in person.

just download, fill it in and get a lawyer to stamp it...done..

Just call the local MOT office and ask them what to do. You may not need an affidavit as you have a receipt of sale and the UVIP of course confirms the guy you bought it from is the current owner. Just tell them the ownership was lost by the previous owner. Bet they'll do it no problem. Go to a small out of the way MOT.

Yup... Try the bill of sale.
Like I said I just registered my truck with a bill of sale only (well... and inspection but no worries there).

Calling is easy, try it first.
